Did a quick look at Aquasana. Rather ambiguous claims regarding the NSF certification. They submit for NSF is only up to 500 gallons but they claim they test to 1000 gallons, which means its only their own claim for the additional 500 gallons.

You could end up paying RM299 every 6 months because that's what stated in the NSF data.

On another note, I notice that a lot of outdoor filter nowadays uses carbon to remove chlorine at POE. Wouldn't this do more harm than good because the water in the house (pipe,s tank, etc) wont have chlorine to inhibit bacteria growth?
*
Oh yeah, just check the fact on NSF website too. NSF only certified it for 500gallons for the filter performance. RM299 for every 6months or 500gallons(whichever comes first) still reasonable for a certified water purifier. Outside got alot of water purifier with NO certified at all, they all sell for like RM500-800++ for couple filters. shocking.gif

As for the POE external filter, I was agree with your thought too. POE external filter shouldn't remove the chlorine. Like you said, will increases the microorganisms in the water to growth in our pipe and tank. nod.gif

If worried about that then buy the filter from Singapore and replace your self.
http://www.h2ofresh.com/filters.htm
1 set SGD 79.00 only Approx RM198.00
2 set SGD 150.00 only Approx RM376.00
based on your conservative calculation, still cheap compared to other NSF 53 cert filter.
Coupled together with low initial cost, sure can consider.

Don't forget to include the postage. icon_idea.gif
Also save up some cost for installation since is DIY. tongue.gif

There are so many RO filter in the market, some very cheap and filter also cheap. If you willing to pay RM5k buy atmospheric water generator. You got the option to generate water from atmosphere and also pipe in. More importantly is this machine is sold in US all its filters are FDA approved. it has carbon filters, RO filter, 2 UV, stainless steel containers, hot and cold, temp display, water level display information and humidity indicator and much more.

By reading below you know how superior this system is and no compare:

How Atmospheric Water Generators work refers to diagram
Attached Image

1. machine first pulls air through an electrostatic filter, removing 93% of all air born particles.

2. A condensation unit receives this clean humid airflow and condenses water vapor into liquid.

3. As the machine collects the water, it drops into a collection tray and immediately passes into Ultraviolet (UV) light, where the water stays in contact with UV rays for approximately 30 minutes. This kills over 90% of all germs and bacteria in the water.

4. The water is then pumped through a sediment screen and then through 2 solid block activated carbon 1 micron filters, which removes over 90% of any volatile organic chemicals (VOCs) that may be in the water.

5. The water is then filtered through ultrafiltration (UF) membrane and or RO (USA made), with a pore size of .015 micron or .0001 respectively, to remove virtually all bacteria and common viruses by the UF or 99.99% pure water by RO.

6. The water is then pumped into a reservoir tank.

7. From the reservoir tank, the water is recycled every 30 minutes through the UV and back into the reservoir tank. OR UV at the reservoir tank itself depends on model.

8. The water is then chilled or heated and dispensed at the consumer's convenience.

TheTechnology:

Water produced by the water generation machine is pure and safe for human consumption and exceeds the established U.S. and international Public Health standards, including NSF 53, which is the top U.S. benchmark for drinking water. The NSF 53 standard requires the removal of volatile organic chemicals. VOCs such as ether, which have proven extremely difficult to remove by filtration methods of the past, are not present in the water generated by the water generation machine.

Go for the best.

Allow me to add a little. Water generator is used in war (gulf war), in space station, ship, war ship, submarine including nuclear submarine.

tupperware is direct selling product. My husband bought from my friend RM1.8K free tupperware container worth RM50. 25% less member price with additional discount. Retail RM2590.Actually there's promo that comes with rebate RM300, but it's already due now, I google and found a seller offer the cheapest RM1650. can ask her whether it's still valid or not.
