All the piping in Malaysia do use stainless steel as the cost are cheap and reliable. But not good for health. Also, most of the water are continuous moving on the main pipe, so the damage are way lesser compare to stagnant water in our house.
The chemical reaction need residence time to take place, reducing this is what we need to think of and not increasing it.

Have money, change now. No money, change after it burst.
As long as you everyday use water, nothing will happen. Like my area, the developer using low quality PVC piping, about 75% of them already have pipe burst but mine still ok. I always let the water drip, this is reduce the pressure on the pipes.

Don't worry too much then, use it until it fails.
Want it to last long, don't shut any valves when not in use.

Usually free installation for water filters they will use PVC vakve. Happen to My 3m filter too. I just change the PVC valve to brass after it start leaking. If yours not expose to sunlight, can last few years. My mom house lasted almost 4 years. Is not the PVC pipe, so not too worry on the pipe, is the valve.

well done weikee, cant imagine u can changed it by yourself. BTW you are right, brass valve is much much reliable than PVC ball valve.
It is very good infor for those end user who not install yet 1.
Js share some little infor with you, if you have another 3M pre-filter(model:AP055T) before AP902, then your AP902 filter can be more lasting. thumbup.gif
because replacement AP055T pre-filter cost is cheaper a lot than AP902 filter..
