QUOTE(alvinlim84 @ Mar 17 2014, 12:01 PM) Hi all. Anyone know other good direct drinking water filter brands that are countertop? 3M doesn't have countertop filter. Bacfree do have but it cost RM915 one-time price. Filter replacement RM200. eSpring, good quality but is not cheap. 3M can setup as countertop but it just doesn't looks so nice only, someone previously posted a screenshot. Bacfree @ RM915, which model you talking about? Filter replacement for RM200 doesn't tell the whole story, you need to calculate long-term usage and how many litre/sens.

However, my budget is less than RM1000. I am referring to Bacfree BS-3 Series Filters with ultra tech element. Filter can last up to 5000 litres or 6-12 months depends on usage. Filter is ceramic membrane type and has 0.2 micron. Chlorine reduction 97%. Lead reduction 95%. Turbidity and Chloramine reduction 99%. It seems popular during early years until year 2010 it switch focus to rain water harvesting. It doesn't innovate much in residential drinking water filter since then. So, I have doubt about this BS-3 Series Filters.

He is an reseller of 3M as well. And I can't find any info about Bacfree NSF certification. So I have no idea about the credibility of their product. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « QUOTE(zheilwane @ Sep 25 2012, 10:41 PM) For those who doesnt wan to install 3M indoor water filter undersink, you can also install it like this

Expensive but I'm hoping this is worth the price? Well, after some research from NSF website here. The POE and POU filter by KINETICO are truly certified by NSF. But there something you don't know, you can get the same quality and certified of the product from another brand/company. Both POE and POU are over mark up, I know is hurt but is true. The K5 @ RM3500 is just another RO System which certified with NSF 42+53+58. Not to forget the long-term maintenance might be expensive too, because it only last for 500gallon(apox. 1900liters). Good luck dude. * NSF/ANSI 42 Drinking Water Treatment Units - Aesthetic Effects ** NSF/ANSI 53 Drinking Water Treatment Units - Health Effects *** NSF/ANSI 58 Reverse Osmosis Drinking Water Treatment SystemsThis post has been edited by NightFelix: Mar 24 2014, 03:24 PM

Frankily speaking, i guess d overall price are quite high.
I ll recommend espring which is less than RM4000 and pentair which is less than RM2000.
As the Pentair that I distribute is non transparent material, reduce d risk of funga grows

There is not much strong support abt drinking alkaline water benefit to health. Plus our body hv buffer system. No matter how much alkaline water we drink our body cant turn to be alkaline. As if our stomach pH bcom alkaline wr cant even hv a goo digest sys. Coz our stomach should be in acid medium. Lastly, question bek to y we wanna have a water treatment system? We wan to hv clean water. If d alkaline water is really good for health bt d system is not really good in filteration water. I guess i wont use. Tat y i never drink any alkaline water. Btw some patiens may need alkaline water as suggest by doc. Normal ppl dun need it.

I m using espring. Answer is simple: it is using a compact active carbon filter. Surface area of d carbon filter equal to 250++ surface area of football field. It filter 0.2micron particles and 140types of containminates. Those filters containminates stated in NSF website. It certified by NSF standard 42,53,55. It using UV light to kills bacteria n virus. So i never boil my water juz drink it directly. Plus u can search urself in youtube. Taiwan tv program discuss"how to choose water treatment sys". They invite d respresentive from espring sharing on tv.
Tis is my opinion as a chemist.

QUOTE(naleh33 @ Jul 30 2008, 01:50 PM) My house is currently using the Amway treatment water system. I am not sure whether it is your mentioned e-spring system but it has also a combination of carbon block filter, ultraviolet light with an electronic monitoring system. No offence but their lifespan based on the monitoring system is very short. There are only 2 peoples including me staying in the house. The water usage is very little but the lifespan of the carbon filter and ultraviolet light is about 6 months. Each time u change it will cost you a bomb especially the ultraviolet light. If I remember correctly, it is about 300++ for the replacement. So now I din bother to change it. I still used the filtered water but I will just boil it again. hi naleh, yours e-spring is 2nd version? I am using the 3rd version e-spring and the lifespan is ok..4 people including me staying in the house and the filter can sustain around 1 year.

QUOTE(NightFelix @ Mar 31 2014, 09:49 AM) Well, not most of us are rich as you, bro. Is not the matter of rich or poor, if you prepare to invest on water filter mean you r health conscious and health is not something money can value. After all, RM110 include change of filter etc.. in long term still cheaper in term of average cost.
