I'm not kaya to buy RM4K-5K water filter that still need $$$$ to replace its filters...that's why I go for rental.....for just RM110 per month (auto charge to my credit card), I need not worry a thing.....in fact I guess Coway must be so worried that I might shift house and ran away with their asset  brows.gif

I have done a bit of survey myself before decided on Coway  hmm.gif  Like I said in previous post, water filter won't work as it should, if the filters not serviced where you would end up drinking contaminated water like me before. There's a good video at www.mycoway.net that explains how their filtering system works.

I realized that Coway has a dedicated team to do just servicing every 2 months where they will clean the device and change the filters as per schedule. Not only that, after each time the Coway personnel came to my house, I sure get phone call the next day to verify whether the personnel did the right thing, wearing uniform, look presentable etc. Last sekali dia akan tanya our own rating on the service received.
*
If in the house just me and my wife or one more kid, I will just buy the mineral water from market. RM110 can buy 110 bottle of 1.5l from tesco at the cost of RM1/bottle. If not mistaken tesco mineral water cost 99sen/botle. Divide a month would consume about 5,2l perday. That is enough for 3person. I guess mineral water would be better than those water filter. hmm.gif

Sorry to give comment, actually you like their service or the quality of the water filter from the system?
i think the most important point is the water that filter out from the water filter system right?
*
Eh.. I don't understand your comment.

I just point out what can buy from rm110. Mineral water better of filter water better. rm4k-5k for a water filter is crazy.

It is not the bacteria that is filter out. (For my water filter purpose)

I just want to filter out the rust, soil and the foreign particle that from the rust pipe and etc. You can see those thing from your normal filter.

The water filter is more bacteria accumulate than without filter. So I still boil the water even filter out the water. By the way I just use normal cheap water filter only.

I don't trust those crazy expensive filter which said can drink straight away after filter. If the filter is new, I can understand. But if been using for a while, I don't no how many million bacteria accumulate in there.

Hahaha...

Just because the RO doesn't have mineral, you ask people not to drink RO water?? What a joke...

If u want your drinking water that contains minerals which equal to 1 glass orange juice, you need to DRINK 30 GALLONS to get it!! As long as you eat vegetables or fruits, you can get back all the minerals!

And you know what, RO able to purified 0.0001 MICRON which filtering most harmful substances including heavy metals, cancer-causing substances! Which other filtration method won't able to do it!

Cheers.
*
Why you want to drink that water till that microscopic clean? In longterm you don't have any antibody and immuine system to protect you. If you go third world country holiday or a few day inside jungle, can you survive with the river water?

Mineral is one of our diet and water is the main mineral supply. Take it out and you have to eat twice or thrice of your food. Why I have to do that?

By the way, I have been drinking mineral water for over 10yrs daily and only 0.1% drinking tap water (That is when go out for eat). tongue.gif

There isn't any scientific evidence to demonstrate the benefits of the energized water. Water filter most important function is to filter impurities such that it is suitable for drinking. If you follow this principle then you don't really need anything extra.

These energized water, alkaline water are mostly originated for JP and KR - two countries where fads are norm. That said, some of the "theories" seem plausible but not proven. I have just gotten the latest Panasonic TK7585 ionized water filter just to try out the difference. At least I know the Panasonic water filter does indeed is a good water filtering device I.e effective in getting rid of harmful substances at least. Ionized water is just an added feature to me
*
Is that a Panasonic Alkaline Ionizer? I m planing to get 1. What thing that need to maintainence or change yearly?

saw the panasonic alkaline water ..filter... cost RM1699 after discount, it is good for health ?
It depend on your diet. What I know if your diet mostly acidic, akaline water will help you neutralize the ph. Another way, cut slice of lime put inside your water to drink. And ionizer will refresh you. But I don't no ionizer water can refresh internally. hmm.gif But confirm ionizer can refresh you externally.

Is that cheap? They have 2 model for this alkaline water filter.

pana replacement is around 150bucks. i normally change every year. but: i have entry filter over lava rubble + double carbon filters running before hand. so onlything left is minor impurites. on a sidenote: anyone has a solution to fit the panasonic filter under the sink?
*
Becarefull to put under the sink. Some water filter can't handle continues pressure and will bust the casing. Specially night when water pressure is higher. I have this bad experience with anway water filter. Flood my hall and kitchen when morning wakeup. Even after put a pressure regulator to reduce the pressure.

I agree in a sense, there is only clean and dirty water, soft or hard water.

But in Malaysia we have people that believe in energy water, diamond water etc bla bla bla. Your filter needs to remove chlorine and heavy metals, not to provide long life and lots of luck.  cool2.gif
*
I wonder people will believe when I comeout new filtering water call "Tongkat Ali Water". biggrin.gif

For filtered household water, it comes from tap which is pretreated.
I agree it may not be up to standard but it has gone through a treatment process before we filter it again.
So no mineral content specification does not mean there is poison.  blink.gif

Not arguing for "must" drink mineral water, "defending" mineral water.  icon_rolleyes.gif
*
I have been drink mineral water for 16yrs. But not filter type. Those brought 18L. Now think back, it been very longtime.

Problem now is when drink pipe water, feel the taste different. And have problem to accept back.

Leak? The bypass valve is same as the other two valves. I think it was not done properly.

Worry about sun, you can cover it with something like cloth, plastic, etc or even aluminium foil, the one use for baking.
*
The hot sun and uv is degrade the material. Metal type is better.

by Capacity.  Outdoor Capacity: 100,000 gallons (378,541 liters) Give or take 10%, you know Malaysia water is so clean.

Indoor Capacity: 625 gallons (2,365 liters)
*
So every month I m using 10m3 water or 10000liter. Put it at 378,000liter / 10000liter = 37.8month. Or about 3 year before I need to change the filter. That is quite longtime.

For indoor, 2person drink about 4liter/day. That is 2365liter/4liter = 591day. Or about 1.5year before need to change the filter.

haha.. But than again, keeping the cartridge filter for too long also not to good. I will change when pressure get drop, that usually happen at 70% to 80% blocked.
*
Well, got to stress my money long. Pay maintenance for all this is not cheap.

why calculate so much on this? Just take alphamax with backwash will do... low maintenance compare to 3M. Cost wise cheaper as well.
*
The content of the filter don't need to change? What is the cycle time? How much water do you need to backwash?

nvr think of it.. smile.gif just told that need to backwash after 7 to 10days..and the size of tank bigger than 3M. And I do not believe the smaller size like 3M, can wait until full year only change filter. Sure the water flow or pressure will compromise.
*
People said, buy is cheap. maintainance is expensive. If I don't look as all this data, it will cost me more than initial buy the filter.
