My house is currently using the Amway treatment water system. I am not sure whether it is your mentioned e-spring system but it has also a combination of carbon block filter, ultraviolet light with an electronic monitoring system. No offence but their lifespan based on the monitoring system is very short.

There are only 2 peoples including me staying in the house. The water usage is very little but the lifespan of the carbon filter and ultraviolet light is about 6 months. Each time u change it will cost you a bomb especially the ultraviolet light. If I remember correctly, it is about 300++ for the replacement.  cry.gif

So now I din bother to change it. I still used the filtered water but I will just boil it again.

I share the similar experience with you. I used it to wash vegetables and rice as well. Not even 6 months, the indicator already notify to change the cartridge. My advice is not to use it to wash vegetables and rice, just use it to drink. For washing vegetables and rice, either install a separate carbon filter from other brand (e.g. Panasonic) or a master filter outside the house.

For POE, my first choice was 3M outdoor filter as it used pleated media, but it's life cycle cost is very high in my opinion (I assume change filter every year).

So I went with next closest option which is diamond master filter, got it for rm799+rm180 for installation. But need to backwash every 2 weeks and clean the filter with water jet gun once every 1-1.5 year (about rm60). Change filter about four years once, turns out to be more affordable then 3M in my opinion.

Indoor I'm using bacfree though, was very convinced with their POU filter model.

Not recommended to install Carbon filter outside of the house, because if there are no Chlorine go into your house Water reserve tank, then your tank would be full of microorganism. So either install a small cheap Carbon Filter(you name it) for wet kitchen, and the eSpring(or other equivalent good POU) for dry kitchen for drinking/cooking purpose. If small apartment then different story.

I would choose 3M brand for the POE as well because for their product certification proven, and hassle-free and easy to replace filter. Also, I don't believe in those seller telling story like life-time no need change, if got such things, I believe the next thing to replace is not the filter but my kidney. Could you ever imagine, how many stuff are trap in the filter, same story if you eat so many thing without going to toilet for 1week or months.

Currently I'm using eSpring in my house for POU. Using it since the previous model 2nd Generation.

This show that the membrane is being clog >50% looking at the water so Dark. Hence filtered water out from kitchen tap In the end become <1 bar. The piping in the video very straight forward  what I mean it only meant flushing. membrane have to perform Flushing twice a day and Backwashing 2 week once. If Water cut then when water start supplying nextday perform Backwashing  and flushing.  Generally POU can't withstand more than >2.5 bar those joint will start to leak and the fact is The more Slower water passes thru The POU Catridges the More reducing Chlorine % can be achieved Hence 1~1.5 bar is just good enough. If don't believe try to connect the main Pipe to POU 6 catridged and use filtered water to cook rice. Another One reduce the pressure to <1.5 bar and connect to POU 6 catridges and use filtered water cook rice. In the end compare the freshness cooked rice once cool put in the fridge and cover it.  You will  find the one that connect with Main piping to POU 6 catridges <1.5 bar is for more superior in keeping the freshness of the Cooked rice after several day. I use Membrane system for 2.8 yrs and  POU a basic  6 filter catridges and I do analysis cooked rice can withstand the freshness up to >1 week.

I suggest getting a good filter like Culligan and put it indoor (under sink). It can filter out those VOC gasses inside the water, something other filter can't

CLick below to see the Culligan filter.

DO you provide free istallation? How much is the maintenance cost? How frequent do I need to change the filter for household of 2-3 people?

without the outdoor filter the indoor one will get clogged fast unless ur water is clean. Checked culligan and it seems to be similar to 3M AP Easy Complete but at a sligtly lower price. However, the undermount installation tap is not included (usually cost RM 80), replacement cartridge price is ard rm 150+ more expensive than 3M and capacity is 500gal while 3M is 750gal (50% more)

it is possible to install outdoor filter provided your water meter is exposed or there is sufficient space to install in the meter room and your management allows u to install.

Here is a photo of 3M AP902 installed in a condo
