Cash Advance interest starts right after u get ur cash(means no free interest charge period) and they are charging you 1.5% per month.

Right on top of that, they will charge u 5% processing fee or RM50 ringgit(if i'm not wrong) withever higher...

means if u withdraw 2000 cash using ur credit card, u have to pay extra 100 processing fee + RM360 per year...

that's Along interest larr~

1. Which is better, CIMB or RHB?

2. Can i apply 2 cards (both visa n mastercard) at the same time and place, or i get to choose one only?

3. If can choose one only, which is better, visa or mastercard?

4. How long does it take for the application to be accepted/done, and when can i use the card?

5. i only work for a month now. can i use my appointment letter instead of using my payslips?

6. What documents should i bring during the application? copy of IC? Copy of bank account book? payslip/appointment letter?

Your help would be verrrry much appreciated!

Thanks guys smile.gif

All these while, I mention about my CC application being rejected by HSBC. doh.gif Today I got a call from HSBC Medan Pasar telesales offering me Visa Gold without any documentation, as they refer to my PV account which is where my company banks in my monthly salary. sweat.gif

- 5 years annual fee waiver.
- Free HSBC Limited edition Lion Pocket Watch*
*subject to RM300 spending

I think not going to apply for it, as:
1) I'm consolidating points with MBB CC at the moment.
2) MBB 2x Amex, 5x Petronas has better TP
3) I feel MBB CC benefits/rewards are better overall.

Anyone want to convince me on HSBC CC benefits/rewards ?
e.g. sometimes Citibank CC are allowed to buy-1-free-1 Coffee Bean drinks.

Or just hold on to it since 5 years free ? rclxub.gif

1) So far I see, CIMB

2)Can we can apply both

3)U can apply both cards... benefit wise, same larr... no much different..

4)depends on bank... Maybank is a Snail and Citibank is a Cheetah.... and alliance bank is a rock...u get what i mean? brows.gif

5)Ya, u can do so... but normally they will ask for 2-3 months salary slip...

6)actually nowadays, u only need to provide ur IC, payslip.. or other credit card as reference. since u don't hav other cards, just ur IC and payslips will do the trick...

You may apply both of it because of HSBC has their different promotion season of the card holder, May is Fashion get discount, and now is swipe 7 times free you an air ticket to changi airport. For Maybank, you can get free petrol when you pump your oil at Petronas. So, i have conclude that, go shopping and dinning use HSBC, go pump oil and easy payment use MBB (cause most merchant got EPP for MBB)

Cheers mate

I was rejected for my HSBC CC application. sad.gif Same goes to my friends. They applied together with other friends, out of 5 persons applied, only 1 accepted, others rejected. But, all of us have same salary and work in the same company~ sweat.gif

Just now went Maybank Treats Fair, applied for MBB Petronas and MBB Amex~ For Petronas CC, already approved and got the temporary CC while they are processing for the original card. thumbup.gif For Amex, they said around 2 weeks. smile.gif

last few months i applied the AMEX Charge Card from a officer in a shopping mall with my other two colleagues and i gotta my card but the other two were rejected.. i think perhaps they consider how much card you have , limits or total outstanding balance are used to the person to approve the card. some of the bank even avoid high risk job like lorry driver, florist , even the paycheck are eligible to apply but they still decline the application..

I think the approval rate at the MBB Treat Fair will be higher than normal , even the card sales officer are more than 30 at the main entrance (as what i saw today) , that shows MBB are targeting quite lots of new application and shoppers inside the area are being offer goodies thru MBB cards itself too.

But i only wondering BNM limit how many banks to offer card to an individual.. rclxub.gif

Added on August 1, 2008, 6:27 amanyone here holding three AMEX card at a time? i mean MBB Amex card, AMEX Charge Card and AMEX Platinum Credit Card , i believe this three card does have separate limit right? is it possible to get three card at once ? blink.gif

I looked at the catalogue and so far the only things I am interested in are the vouchers and maybe the smart tag.

@TeraPox,
RM2.3k for 8 pax would mean RM287.50 p/person! Now that is a LOT of $ to spend on a meal but well.. if U haf the $ Y not? wink.gif Ok.. I'm not going to think twice about that dinner invitation to that place uh... at Pavilion anymore! So, set the date and time! tongue.gif

For those who's visited the fair [U people sure are fast!], are they giving our annual waiver fees (and if so, for how many years?) for new applicants? And which card does it apply to?! I'm interested only in the Amex Plat tongue.gif

@jtcs87,
U lazy bum! The banks U listed have several different cards - to know the exact requirement, just get onto their websites and browse through the different cards U want.

This is NOT the place for us to do ur homework for U!
