minimum income for plat normally starts from 60k pa with a limit of 20K, so if yr gold card limit is above 20K, very good chance to be invited to upgrade  biggrin.gif

Ok thanks.

Wanna ask:

Among CIMB, Ambank, RHB, Affin, EON, Public Bank, HSBC, and Std Chart, Which bank's credit card is the best in terms of promotions, cash rebates and point redemption and etc? Thanks!

Applied for RHB and CIMB already. Too bad MBB cannot.

Not using cc to enjoy or sumthing. Just to accommodate my monthly expenses. Not living below my paycheck. Just that the paycheck is always late. :/
20day loan(with no interest) is fine with me. wink.gif

CIMB and MBB are the best. Lots of promotion year round. Treatpoints needed to redeem things from MBB generally are lower than most banks. CIMB on the other hand, got many selections. You should see the CIMB "Rewards Catalogue" they sent to me early this year.

Anyways, HSBC and Citibank aren't too shabby either but neither can beat CIMB and MBB.

If reward points are your priority, that's .... in terms of services, both HSBC and Std Chart beats CIMB & MBB flat tongue.gif

Yeap. They accept cards at the counter (Kedai Tenaga).

Negligence due to the cardholder. You have to pay for it.

Here's what likely to happen if you do the report

- The bank will still ask you to pay because the authorised transactions occured before you reported your loss. Unfortunately, you are liable for it - read your card T&C and you'll see what I mean.
- Can try your luck but bank will say that either they will suspend payment for the disputed transactions (best case) or they ask you to pay first and then claim once the culprit is caught.
- Report to police and they will check the CCTV. If the CCTV capture is good and they haven't deleted the tape then maybe you can check but it'll probably take months before they can close the case. (Unless you are a VVVVIP)

Conclusion - you can try but be prepared for a very long wait and there's a chance that you will still lose in the end.

My friend lost his card and he lodge a police report and filed in a dispute with the bank.

Eventually, he had to pay small amount of the bill only.

If it's the defect due to bank's fault, no need to pay.

If it's due to your negligence or lack of care, you may be charged.

Is the chip damaged? Still able to swipe? If still can swipe, I doubt that the bank would replace a new one for free. biggrin.gif

For anybody monitoring that Standard Chartered's 7% Petrol Rebate when using their Debit Card to pump petrol, I have known about this earlier, and would like to provide an input : The 7% rebate is only for RM 100 petrol pumped per month, and if you use more than RM 100 of petrol, the excess petrol pumped does not carry any rebate.

Thus, in other words, one can only claim RM 7 per month. sad.gif

I think no point-lah,...........
*
This was posted three months ago but i would like to clarify something. What said above is not true. I have used my StanChart Debit Mastercard to pay for petrol since i opened the account early this year and i'm given about RM20 - RM30 rebate each month.

2% = RM 2 for RM 100 petrol, RM 7 for 2% = RM 300+ of petrol

Don't worry, you can confront with the Telebanker.
For my case, I use a lot HSBC cc and my chip got problem and sometime very hard to read.
When asked for replacement, HSBC wanna charge me RM50. Then I confront with the telebanker that it's not my problem and other bank such as MBF did not charge me when my cc was cracked the other time. Immediately, she waived the RM50 charges.
I've been using many cc. So far I find HSBC is the best in terms of services (including follow-up case).
