*
The card will be block if you do not pay full after the 20-day grace period.

What is the requirement of Premiere card? is it higher grade than platinum, can get so high -- RM40K limit ?
*
QUOTE(hye @ Oct 3 2008, 07:44 PM)
It is call the HSBC "Premier" not "Premiere". Yes ... it is a higher grade than Platinum (Infinite is VISA's version). You need to have min RM200K in total deposits/investments with HSBC. If you want an intro ... PM me.
*
All the HSBC Premier Mastercard cardholders i know have AT LEAST RM40,000.00 of credit line for the exclusive card. So i guess RM40k is the lowest credit line/entry level for HSBC Premier Mastercard.

And you don't have to get an introducer to be HSBC Premier customer. So long you meet the T&C will do.

I am using it right now, but do not get any rebates as promised...zzz
*
Are you sure ? I use my Standard Chartered E$aver Debit Mastercard to pay for petrol since February and they will debit the 7% back to my account every end of the month.

Wait till you hear what's the entry level CL for RHB's VISA Infinite. It is RM200K ... yes ... you heard me right.

RHB Bank Visa Infinite has been around for quite a while but it doesn't seem to be popular even among millionaires.

QUOTE(hye @ Oct 5 2008, 09:40 PM)
Before anyone here can get excited about this ... of course getting this card is not easy. You need to have LOTS of deposit with the bank in order for you to be "offered" this card. Unlike SCB's version of the Infinite, you can't walk into the bank and apply for the card. It's not available for application ... by invitation only.
*
I wondered if we can request for the Standard Chartered Bank Visa Infinite when we become their "Priority Banking" customers. They are giving out complimentary Platinum Visa or Platinum Mastercard once you become their "Priority Banking" customers but Standard Chartered Bank Platinum Visa/Mastercard have very low annual gross income requirement to qualify for it (just RM60,000/pa) which make it so substandard compared to other banks' Platinum credit cards.

Anyways, more banks might introduce Visa Infinite/Visa Signature/World Mastercard/World Mastercard Elite in the next few years as Platinum Visa/Mastercard get more common in Malaysia and also to tap the VVIP market.

*
QUOTE(WaCKy-Angel @ Oct 6 2008, 12:08 PM)
Yup something like Isetan or Metrojaya or Jaya Jusco...
Its a departmental store
*
It is not exactly like Isetan or Metrojaya because things at TANGS are so much more expensive.

@MilesAndMore,
When U become a Priority Banker with Standard Chartered, they give u a Platinum Mastercard, not Visa.  You can't even request for the Visa so I'm quite sure we wouldn't be able to get the Visa Infinite.

PS: I was a Standard Chartered Priority Banker until about 2 weeks ago.
*
Oh, i was told we can choose between Mastercard or Visa. I guess she was wrong then. Anyway, she is not a Priority Banking RM, so she probably doesn't know much about it. But i wonder if our savings/investment with the Standard Chartered Bank is way more than the minimum limit, will we be able to get the Visa Infinite for free. I'm gonna ask them one day. Thanks for the info, tinkerbel.

more expensive = more quality.

hmmm can consider abit.

I wouldn't say the quality will be a lot better but many brands at TANGS cannot be found at any other department store which make TANGS different from others.

Need some advice.

I have had a platinum OCBC card for several years now. No fees, and good customer support. Other than that - its  boring , with no where as good deals/offers as the other cards I see in the papers.

If I wanted to change to another card, what would be the best recommended one ? My wish list

*lots of travel promotions
*points that dont expire
*Decent bonus points/gifts.
Care to give a few recommendations ? Thanks in advance.
*
Hmm ... Points that don't expire and decent bonus points. All i can think of is Citibank. Citibank credit cards always have some really good discount at many reputable restaurants year round.

Yes ... MBB CC can pay bills online but the number of payees are very limited. For example, you can't use it to pay for your Astro or TNB bills.
*
How about Citibank online ? Can we use other banks' credit card to pay Astro and TM bills ?

In Malaysia, UOB's premier card is the Midas Card.
*
Do they have Premier card ? I thought HSBC is the only bank to issue the Premier card, which is a World Mastercard.

btw, when you request for the annual fee waiver, do you see the amount credited right away? It's been 2+ weeks and I don't see it on my MBB card.
*
Speaking of MBB credit card annual fee waiver. I currently own a MBB AMEX Gold Credit Card and just about 2 weeks ago i found out that MBB recently introduced a new credit card range called "Ikhwan" and it is free for life as long as you swipe the card 12 times/pa which i am sure is a piece of cake to everybody. Now i am thinking to convert my MBB Gold AMEX Credit Card to the MBB Ikhwan AMEX Gold Credit Card. I don't want to call their CS every year just to ask for fee waiver because it is such a waste of time.

planning to get a credit card. my first. im confuse with the annual salary of at least 18k, means 2k per month...
my salary is 2k but after epf/socso etc, it became 1.7k. am i still eligible to apply? they look at 'gaji pokok' or 'gaji bersih'?
*
It is based on your gross salary, which means your "gaji pokok".

Does MBB Ikhwan AMEX Gold Credit Card share the same benefit as MBB AMEX Credit Card? if yes, I would like to get one too.

I have it at http://www.maybank2u.com.my/consumer/onlin...wan/bmain.shtml.

TREATSPOINTS

Earn one TreatsPoints for every RM1 spent with Maybank Islamic Ikhwan American Express or Visa Card on all retail transactions. Plus you can earn 2X TreatsPoints for every RM1 spent at Telekom Malaysia (TM Homeline, TMPoint and TMNet), HSL Electrical & Electronics, Victoria Station, Sri Ayutthaya Restaurant and Subway CafƩ.

TP wise on Ikhwan AMEX is RM 1 = 1 point and not same as conventional AMEX with RM 1 = 2 points.
*
The main "Ikhwan" page said so but if you click the FAQ page item numbered 22, it says that MBB Ikhwan AMEX earns 2X Treatpoints for every RM1 transacted. Anyways, it is better if you confirm with their CS first.

For MBB Ikhwan AMEX Gold Credit Card, I have called M2U CS and they confirmed that this card will also enjoy 2x TP as the MBB conventional AMEX.
*
Great. Going to convert my current MBB Gold AMEX to MBB Ikhwan Gold AMEX real soon and at the same time apply for the MBB Ikhwan Gold VISA. Thanks for the info mate.

QUOTE(keith_hjinhoh @ Oct 15 2008, 10:29 AM)
Ikhwan good meh?

All tsc must be halal, else your card will be cancelled.

So, wine, not halal restaurant, and Genting will not be able to transact, else your card will be cancelled.
*
The T&C didn't exactly say that we can't use it at Genting, non-Halal restaurant or to purchase alcoholic drinks at supermarket. So it should be alright.

*
JUSCO, GIANT and CARREFOUR all do accept AMEX. Not sure about TESCO as i have never shopped at TESCO. AMEX acceptance generally is good at all big corporations.

AMEX is also accepted at :
- KINOKUNIYA Bookstore
- MPH Bookstore
- TIMES Bookstore
- PARKSON
- ISETAN
- METROJAYA
- SOGO
- GUARDIAN
- WATSON
- SPEEDY Video
AND
- KL Sentral ERL Ticket Counter
- Airport LIMO KLIA
- All Shops at KLIA
- 4-star & 5-star Hotels such as Vistana Hotel and Imperial Hotel
- All the Big hospital such as SJMC & SMC
- ASTRO Showroom
- TONG HING Supermarket Kota Kinabalu
- MILIMEWA Supermarket Kota Kinabalu

I use my AMEX whenever possible due to the RM1 = 2X Treatpoint system tongue.gif

QUOTE(hye @ Oct 21 2008, 12:15 PM)

I have one question. Can anyone here confirm whether HSBC's Premier card is the equivalent of VISA Infinite ?

I spoke to HSBC's CS but the answer is very vague. My contact in HSBC's Premier says that this card is better than the Platinum card.
*
NO, its just a regular Plat Master card with slightly souped up benefits tongue.gif
Apparently many of us were wrong all this while because HSBC Premier Mastercard in Malaysia is indeed only equivalent to regular Platinum Mastercard. The only thing to distinguish HSBC Premier Mastercard holders is that the only way to get this card is to become HSBC's VIP customer (Premier Banking customer). And within the HSBC worldwide, HSBC Premier Mastercard is viewed to have a higher status than their regular Platinum credit card.

And according to one of the RMs at HSBC, HSBC is still in the process to standardize their Premier Banking across the globe. Many countries' HSBC Premier Mastercard are already known as HSBC Premier World Mastercard, one example is Australia's HSBC. Very soon all HSBC Premier Mastercard will become HSBC Premier World Mastercard regardless of the issuing country.

You don't need 100K pa for a plat card. Most banks just looking at 60K pa so unless you are lower than that, you shd be fineĀ  tongue.gif
*
Yeah. One such example is Standard Chartered Bank. However, other banks such as HSBC, Citibank and Maybank still require you to earn at least RM100K - RM150K/pa to qualify for their Platinum credit card.

By the way, a gross salary of only RM18K/pa will already qualify you for SCB Gold Visa/Mastercard.
