QUOTE(yeehs18 @ May 8 2009, 03:12 PM) TOS, TNG, DSN, VYR timeline will still continue. As mentioned in the movie by Spock I think; that this movie has spawn an alternate reality. You see, the successful of the movie is because the original timeline is remain as canon and yet the new timeline also canon. So now in star Trek back story have 3 realm which is Star Trek 1.0 (Original), Star Trek 2.0 (New), and Mirror universe. With all 3 remain intact and alive. The most exciting is because of this superb arrangment the fandom accepted JJ adaption well. there are only two timelines now: the original star trek and this new movie. TNS, DSN, voyager, enterprise and all the other movies fall into the original timeline, just at different point of time.

awesome movie...
very nice way to 'cheat' the previous movies and series by just making it into alternate reality. they were just obvious with it with the multiple cheating stuff in the movie.
as preposterous the red matter was, the movie is still highly entertaining. are they making it into a tv or movie series?

Wow. I don't know why. This movie, is said to be one of the finest sci-fi movie ever made and also best prequel ever made in history of movies.
Every one of my friends who watched the movie said it was a freaking blast. They want to watch it... again.
J.J. Abrams has done it.
BTW, when the trailer first came out, I just loved the whole "colorfulness" and "shininess" of the movie. Everything looks incredible. Not corny, but in a way, it is dealt in such high quality.
Damn.
Haven't watch this movie, but pre-cinema score I'll give it a beautiful 9 / 10 .

Nobody ever mentioned about Eric Bana as Captain Nero? He was awesome as well. Just like tom Cruise from Trophic Thunder, i was like.. hey i know this guy but what's his name... patiently waited and saw Eric Bana name as Nero. LOL
Actually many actors from TV series acting in the movie such as Jennifer Morrison (Cameron from House), Zachary Quinto (Sylar from Heroes) and many more.

superbly awesome movie!!!!
i feel like watching it again!
I'm a trek fan and i can accept this alternative universe, as long as it doesnt re-write the original star trek (since it still exists but in a different reality)!

I'm no serious trekkie but I've watched a few Star Trek TOS movies and I thought JJ Abrams did a fabulous job. The cast was excellent. I had initial doubts of the 2 comedic actors in this movie but turned out to be pretty enjoyable. Graphics were stellar as well as the action. Would have preferred if it was less funny though, some scenes were just made for laughs and i thought it was unnecessary. But luckily the script didn't turn out to be as appalling as Transformers. Great movie. Solid 4/5.

QUOTE(aiyish @ May 9 2009, 02:30 AM) Karl Urban as Dr Bones, 100% hit!!! yea i thought that was the best characterization (is that the right word?) of the original cast. Spock comes second.
