i have done a little calculation for the 100" diagonal image size projection from a throw distance of 12 feet.
if i want the center of the image being 50" from the floor, the projector would have to be placed about 80" high up from the floor (offset included) i'm not planning for a ceiling mount installation. is it simple to install ceiling mount from the plaster ceiling? else, a karaoke speaker tripod would suffice as very tall one is easily available at Jln Pasar. is it possible for the pojector to be placed lower (such as 60" from floor so that i can use a projector trolley), and can the vertical image shift give enough compensation for that? ![]() This post has been edited by Skylinestar: Sep 10 2010, 11:52 PM |

i installed mine on the ceiling and its more convenient than on the floor. the pj ceiling mount must be fixed on the concrete ceiling and not the plaster ceiling which can't hold the weight

If you're going to install the ceiling mount now, some hacking of the plaster ceiling will be involved. Also to be safer, you can install directly to the concrete.if i want the center of the image being 50" from the floor, the projector would have to be placed about 80" high up from the floor (offset included) i'm not planning for a ceiling mount installation. is it simple to install ceiling mount from the plaster ceiling? else, a karaoke speaker tripod would suffice as very tall one is easily available at Jln Pasar. is it possible for the pojector to be placed lower (such as 60" from floor so that i can use a projector trolley), and can the vertical image shift give enough compensation for that? ![]() You can place the projector lower, but pls check the amount of vertical shift your projector has. |

HD65 is only using HDMI v1.3b. It has to involve hardware change in order to get full 3D capability. Correct me if i am wrong. Could not be as simple as update f/w only.

It is true the hardware must be upgraded in order to be 3D compatibility. If I am not mistaken, a 3-D projector should have more than 3 bulbs, maybe 5 bulbs inside. The angle of each bulb is different from conventional 3 bulbs, they will project the image so it looks blur but with the spec on you will see it as 3-D.
