unfortunately, for metallic paint that needed to be buff, No.

in fact the moment u spray top coat on it (after u buff), immediately it turns dull.

Hello,

I am new to Gundam making and in the process of making my first Gundam moving on from Tamiya and model kits making.

My question is, I bought the Lining Pen for Gundam but it's non-permanent water based pen and was wondering will the lining stays on once I sprayed on the top coat?

Or should I wipe everything off and buy a permanent marker for the lining?

Thanks!

is it a gundam marker pen??? it will take a while for it to fully cure so if got any mistake you can wipe it out... it will stay after being top coat.

Yea it's the Gundam Marker pen. But mine has been overnight and I could still wipe it off.

Will the ink run when I spray my top coat if it's not fully cured?

wipe off using fingers/tissues or with thinner?
gundam marker oso got 2 type, one with metal on the tip, one is without.
by right it shud be ok since it's gundam marker.
to be sure, try on some plastics and try top coat see the line will smear or not la..
if not sure always try 1st blush.gif

i do think that the marker pen version (the one we noobs use to panel line) will rub off to an extent. However, no problems if you topcoat it, although i had an experience when i topcoated within an hour of panel lining and the lines 'kembang' a bit.

When I draw panel lines on the model, the ink seems to bleed on to the model, resulting in it looking much thicker than I would prefer. When I try to use a cotton bud to clean it up, it kind of smudges all over the place. I saw in this image of someone doing panel lines

Does anyone know what type of marker is being used? Right now I'm using the Gundam Marker (GM01) Or does anyone have another recommendation for doing panel lines?

Hey guys,

Newbie here. I have a question and I don't think I can go through all 30 pages looking for it so please excuse me.

My PG Strike is a little loose at the hip joint and will always bend backwards at the legs when I attach the striker pack. I heard from a friend that I could coat the leg joints with a few layers of liquid cement to tighten it a little. Any tips before I give it a try?

Thanks.

What I do is use a cotton bud to absorb the excess ink and rub away the resulting smudges with an eraser or my thumb. Sounds a little crude (the thumb part) but that's what works for me.

ok check this out:

er ... do u "play" with your kit like masak-masak? twist here, move there all the time?

if u don't, i suggest since u r not going to change the pose nor playing with it in the future, do a fix pose. use extra thin cement, or even super glue (a little bit enuf) on the joint. u will find the joint darn hard until u break the plastic also it wont move.

if u like to play with your kit, i really dun know any way to prevent and  maintain.

if u just need to move it a few times, mebbe to take photo, then u can try add a little clear in the joint. dilute hte paint, just like doing panel line. it will make the joint tougher. but still cannot tahan masak-masak time tongue.gif
*
but bear in mind the cement only apply to PS. As for PG Strike, i suspect those r ABS, hence cement is not going to work. try the superglu or adding a little clear (paint) method.

Aloha! Gundam noob here.
Is there any specific way to using Gundam markers?
I've just started experimenting with them, and so far the results are, well, disastrous. The paint tends to dry halfway while I'm painting the part, leaving horrible marks. cry.gif
What should I do?

Read the tutorial, but I can't afford an airbrush kit anytime in the near future. That's why I resorted to markers...
Are the run-of-the-mill hardware shop spray cans reliable?

not all spray cans are safe. try handpaiting, doesn't cost that much more than using gundam markers and with time you can get great results.
