@siutimtim,
I don't see a need to proof to U I'm a UOB Platinum cardholder. I don't know about their offers because I don't bother checking - am also not a golfer so Y should I bother checking? I oredi said before about using Citibank as my primary credit card and that is still the case; I haven't moved away from Citibank yet.

I sure am glad/happy for U that ur a UOB Platinum cardholder `k - even if it's the ONE Platinum.

@mustang,
Amex has a different reward point system - if U want to be part of that, U need to pay an annual fee.

Hi sifus, gor gor / jie jie around here. tongue.gif

Im reaching 21 in august this yr, and im thinking of getting a CC for emergency usage or perhaps lazy for going through a long queue infront of the atm machine.

What i want to ask is whether i will easily apply a CC successfully or with some problem? I've check all the requirements for applying, and i have qualify everything.

My wage is 1.7k each month, equal up to Rm20,400 p n. Which means i have qualify the requirements of applying CC with earning RM18,000 p n. But i heard my seniors told me that, at my age with that wage is not that easy to apply my 1st CC. Is that true? May i know what really causes that?

Besides, im hoping of getting RHb / Maybank's for my 1st CC. Which will be better in term of benefits ?

Hope u ppl here can assist me of going through everything. smile.gif

As long as you can show them the pay-slip of 1.5K and above, you should get a CC from any bank easily. Unless you have a dodgy credit history which by the sounds of it, you are not old enough for that smile.gif

If a bank refuses you for any reason, tell them you are going to close all your accounts and transfer to another bank. Then go to a shopping mall (or any public place) where they are all fighting over you to get you join up with them. RHB has actually been promoting quite a bit recently.

The next problem you are going to have after signing up with them is they keep wanting to increase your credit limit even if you don't want to. You just have to be firm and say no. laugh.gif

@vin_ann,
The 2% rebate from DA is only applicable on their MasterCard, not Visa.  I believe what arsenal meant is that when U put in an application for a credit card, DA will issue U both their Visa & MasterCard! smile.gif

I received my 2% rebate at the end of the billing cycle... promptly and automatically

Citibank Shell Card is practically holding all the rebates.. DAMN Citibank vmad.gif vmad.gif vmad.gif
I collected more than RM40+ still don't deduct... mad.gif

@kenneth87,
U need to be >21 before U can be a principal credit card holder so the moment U reach 21 U should be able to get one. I don't see a problem in u securing a credit card. As to MBB or RHB, go through their list of benefits for the card category ur applying for and ask urself which one's going to give u more benefits and go with that biggrin.gif

@tinkerbel: You mean I can enroll in AMEX Membership Rewards point program as well for RM25 [Non-Traveller] using this Maybank Amex credit card? Will it replace the current Treat Point system from MBB?

It won't replace but I believe it'll run concurrently. MBB TP has no relationship with AMEX Membership Rewards.

@mustang,
AMEX Membership Rewards is a totally separate scheme from the MBB TreatPoints scheme. For RM25 [Non Traveller] U will also get to enjoy benefits offered by this AMEX Membership Rewards. I believe U will need to make a request to AMEX should U decide to participate in this program.

@David83,
Yup that's right. They're both independent of each other.

I just checked online and can see the 2% rebate off my petrol purchase.

For DA, does anyone know how the points are calculated? Is RM1 = 1 point?

You can't check online for your DA cc status. Call them up @ 03-6204 7878.
Shell V-power is now RM3.15 per litre. cry.gif

1 is not enough?
basically, other CC is offering For For Life with some terms n conditions applied.
so it's not really a truly free for life.

perhaps, mayb you can try UOB One Platinium, it's need 6 transactions per year for Visa n master for each card.
