Please remember when u use cimb petronas card, u dont get cc points for retail transactions because of the 0.5% cash rebate.
i think cimb da is prolly the best of both worlds, 2% petrol rebate for any petrol station + respective mesra/bonuslink/smile points and points for retail transactions.

QUOTE(Aeon_Clock @ Jun 19 2008, 09:10 AM) can't help noticing this. Wasn't helpful? Weird...I've been there a few times and I find them very helpful anyway I'm thinking of getting the Ambank NexG for my movie addict. Might help save some money there especially when going out with friends. Just wondering how they reload prepaid credit cards? And do these cards need signature for purchases...even when buying popcorn? ambank prepaid credit card is just like a normal credit card, u need sign when u buy stuff. u can just deposit money into the ambank nexg account using cash deposit machine or transfer. just like how u settle bills for current credit cards. i just went and terminate my nexg prepaid card btw. there were some transactions of 21 cents which i never made (i never use the card at all).

basically yes, rm100 pumped using da will give u back rm2. for a max of rm50 per month per card (which means u have to pump rm2500). i dint know that da also got discount for retail transaction at petrol station as well though...this one confirmed? i'll be buying my bread from the petrol kiosk more often now .

@vin_ann : are u sure ur card is a da mastercard (as pointed by tinkerbel)? if it is i think u need to call them to claim ur rebate. da visa is not entitled to the rebate afaik.
given the new tiered credit billing system, is citibank shell card still a viable card to use? it still requires carry forward balance right??

i saw 5% i was . then i saw the carry forward balance . anyway less than rm2000 carry forward balance, can get 1.5% rebate of petrol, but annual fee of rm 90 every year (consider classic card). i think this card really sucks more money from you, without you realising it. i think i'll stick to DA + mesra card . i was curious cuz i was helping filling up the shell km giveaway contest. my friend use shell card to fill up for his van....i fill until my hand also numb oredi

but does the rebate accumulate? so i need to keep on pumping until it reaches a amount of rm20, then i'll see it reflected as rm 20 credit from my cc account? wah like that, they earn the interest first then only give rebate...dem smart ar they all.... anyway just curious, the carry forward balance, is it based on total amount spending or current month spending?

so if i pay full every month and no carry forward balance, i can only get 1.5% rebate in petrol every month right? so its similar to cimb petronas cc right?

vin_ann : check online? yeah just allocate money that u would have used to pay, that way u never go wrong. it took me a while as i moved from debit to credit card. now having a cc actually helped me save money as i go to withdraw money less frequent now. everytime want to buy stuff always not enough cash (and yes, the shop doesnt accept cc)., especially hawker food here . btw, for the pizza hut delivery, must use maybank cc or can use any cc? i realised they key in my address wrongly (yet they manage to send the pizza to me every time i call them), is there any way to change it? @tinkerbel if im not mistaken it will offset ur outstanding balance in ur monthly statement as "rebate". well that was how the cimb petronas work i think. i just asked my dad, the rebate appeared as rebate as the last item in the statement. anyway, any penalty for "over paying" DA and HSBC CC? all those sen sen and a few ringgit...hard to pay la...cash deposit machine dont accept coins .

@squall84 1. Basically u need latest payslip / EA form (if u have). Degree cert (or confirmation letter from your uni if you havent go to ur convo yet). 2. DA is free for life, cimb cc got annual fee 3. So far i know this is true for DA member get member program.

for CIMB DA you need degree cert, its one of the requirements as its specially for degree graduate. if you still dont have it yet, just get a confirmation letter from your faculty (i used a confirmation letter to apply for mine). when ur card get approved, ur automatically enrolled in the MGM programme.. as for the rebate, i think u have to ask arsenal, i think he knows better. im using DA as my primary petrol card. I hold a grudge with MBB ever since they shut down my savings account without notifying me. This post has been edited by SnoWFisH: Jul 8 2008, 10:27 AM
