thanks for the info man. can i know how to set the dashboard only connect to WCDMA?
btw. what is the max speed for maxis WCDMA and EDGE? thanks.

Tools>Option>network

change from WCDMA preferred to WCDMA only (all bands)
maxis fellow tells me that changing from auto register to manual-search-register for 3G maxis network helps in connection stability

Well I'm not really going to waste my time reading through the whole 152 pages filled with complains.

Ok 128Kbps is NOT ACCEPTABLE. I'm out of here.

Thanks for the info.

Its the same everywhere you go (for GSM-based mobile broadband) bro. Just look at your monthly usage, if its not much... you won't hit the threshold quota anyway.

Depends on what it is, and how much you surf. One video (even at 360p) is about 50 MB. Just by watching one video a day, you will use 50x30 = 1500 MB = 1.5 GB. One web page is about 300K (size taken from http://www.websiteoptimization.com/speed/t...rage-web-page/)

So 10 web pages a day + 2 videos = 3000K (3 MB) + 50 MB x2 = 103 MB a day.

103 MB x 30 = 3090 MB, or 3.09 GB a month.

i just subscribe the maxis promo package last week which cost me rm48 for the 1.5GB.
so far i found the line is stable and good enough for my light surfing/etc.
was wondering, whether it's worthy to upgrade it to the 3GB package which cost rm68. anyone?

i use 2Gb bundle package @ RM48 just passed 1 month, my record was around 3Gb, no capped.
So i suggest you see and wait untill next month how much you used, if no capped, no need to upgrade. I do not know why maxis allow me use more than 2GB also no capped.
