Dudes and dudettes, HSPA is the generic term for high speed broadband access, which comprises HSDPA (download) and HSUPA (upload). All main Malaysian cel cos have HSPA; though not necessarily both its 'components'. Only DiGi BB has both HSDPA and HSUPA.

QUOTE(davidmak @ Apr 11 2010, 10:23 AM) Unlocked and enabled hidden features mah hahaha... I have one too. Bought from a trader here. But my 3G router is unable to 'use' it to connect to network. My E1762 from Maxis can work. Funny both are the same modem from Maxis. Ahhh, my worst fear. NVM. Yoour router HW550 or DIR-412?QUOTE(davidmak @ Apr 11 2010, 10:23 AM) Another thing... when you leave the modem on idle, you will notice that the bright blue LED will change into a dim blue indicating that you have been dropped to WCDMA mode. But when I use the connection again, things would slow to a crawl and after some painful minutes... things begin to go ok again. You will notice that the modem keep changing its LED color as if it got disconnected or something. This whole cycle repeats... This symptom can be seen with either modem directly connected to PC or a router. Notice that too, but only if I use the modem with a Maxis/HL sim. DiGi SIm no such problem...This post has been edited by 9M-MAS: Apr 11 2010, 10:40 AM |

QUOTE(davidmak @ Apr 11 2010, 06:24 PM) I'm using DIR-412. I used to have the HW550 but it died on me few days ago so I never had the chance to try out this E1762 that I bought from a trader here. I noticed that this particular modem has hidden features enabled so maybe thats the issue. But bottom line, the DIR-412 supports Maxis E1762 no issue. However, the DIR-412 has some incorrect APN names so you need to type in manually. I believe it supports all Huawei modems so no worry there. Hi David, can you confirm the voice-enabled E1762 could not work with your DIR-412? And the voice-not-enabled E1762 does, either they're from Maxis or bought through third party in here? I've been meaning to get that DIR-412.This post has been edited by 9M-MAS: Apr 11 2010, 07:58 PM |

Thanks man!
I prefer the DIR-412 mainly because of the size. Can create WiFi networks on the go! |

Start here:
http://www.dc-unlocker.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1517 WARNING: This process carries an irreversible risk of turning your stick into brick. Added on April 12, 2010, 1:16 pm QUOTE(davidmak @ Apr 12 2010, 08:50 AM) Yes, the DIR-412 is a very compact router with no protruding antennas so mobility great. However, expect the range to be shorter than the Aztech. Also the 412 is a Wireless N 150 so it should be operating on a single antenna. As a result, range and network speed will be lower than the dual antenna Aztech. Good side is, the 412 has the official Wireless N specifications. By the way, do let me know if the unlocked, but voice function not enabled, E1762 which you bought from a trader here works with your DIR-412. If it does I might consider swapping my voice enabled E1762 with my brother's who got his from a trader as well (but voice not enabled). Thanks! QUOTE(shadow111 @ Apr 16 2010, 01:56 PM) Yeap. I think it reads RM50 for the first 6 months. On the seventh month onwards it's RM 98 a month for the next 18 months (sorry, extra size to make up for the small font in the original ad! |
