Just apply the bundle package home value @RM48 / 2GB, back to home can straight away can use already.
Actually i will keep the ZTE modem ( big modem free by them ) in drawer and use my own USB modem + Aztech wifi 3G router
In this method i will save more money.
RM118 upfront, no need to pay for 1st & 2nd month, 3rd month pay RM48.
Then login to account portal, top up for 1GB ( FREE 1GB until 28 FEB )
That mean this month can get 3GB.
speedtest at 11st floor.

Better than apply "no device package", Advanced lite @ RM68, also 2GB.

Tested 2 day using my hotlink, can get better speed than digi, so i will terminate digi bb tomorrow.
Last time digi no problem for me for beginning. ( Aug ). But now since many user apply for it, so i feel the speed getting slower.
The main point is, i must use broadband to upload some files to my website, but digi bb not able to provide good upload for me even small file. ( only happen these 2 months )
But celcom, maxis can upload even the speedtest for upload low.
Actually digi can give 800kpbs average, very stable, but my own website seen not able to use digi for upload files.

2GB is enough for me, if not just top up 1GB @RM28
or buy a prepaid and go for 2GB/1 week @RM25 ( cheaper ), after use, can buang.

maybe now many user scare about maxis, so not many people use maxis bb now.
3 months ago use my hotlink to test 1 hour pass, speed very slow.
Look like now maxis upgrade their service. At least no contract, can terminate if 2 to 3 month, no worry.

What!! You only need to pay RM118 for upfront payment?? I need to pay RM188 for upfront payment..  vmad.gif
They said that RM188 was non refundable
It's that mean that I already "kena" cheat by them!!!  shocking.gif
will call Maxis now....
sure already "kena" now...
the modem also different from what you got from them... I got Huawei E220 USB modem that Maxis Broadband logo appears on it...
you got ZTE.., totally different modem now...
OMG!!!!
*
no, that 1 you are saying is different with mine.
Mine is Home Value, ZTE MF600 ( big modem, not USB modem ). RM118 upfront, free for 1st 2 months.
http://www.maxis.com.my/personal/broadband...s_homevalue.asp

Yours is Mobile value, come with E220 USB modem, free 1 month.
http://www.maxis.com.my/personal/broadband...mobilevalue.asp

I got my own modem. So no need to get USB modem any more.

Actually base on calculation, you will RM68 for 2nd month onward, untill forever.
But mine paying RM48 for 3rd month onwards.
Actually you should buy modem outside which is only cost RM160-RM200 Huawei latest model modem.
If long term, i still pay less than your package now.
eg.
Home value - 1 year
RM118 upfront
RM48 x 10
Buy own modem - RM180
TOTAL : RM778

mobile value - 1 year
RM188 upfront
RM68 x 11
TOTAL : RM936
after 1 year, you will pay more and more than me.

wow, see the different, you should calculate first before you subscribe. Anyway not every dealer running this promotion ( Home Value )
I went to Tmn Connaught, sales person not around, service counter not able to do for me, then go to OUG plaza, lucky they got last 1.

hey game, what package u use? i thinking of getting it also, your download speed superb...
*
i think maxis bb no different on every package, that's mean how much you pay for the package, it only based on quota.
Not like before got lite, power...

RM188 u should get Huawei E1762 bro, not E220 (oredi outdated)... cry.gif
*
that's why this package not worth for it, should buy your own modem.

then all package can get the speed to 3mbps arr?
*
again, maxis website said:
Speed is on best effort basis, up to 7.2Mbps. Speed depends on factors such as modem capability, location, distance from communications tower and number of simultaneous users.

why not try with hotlink prepaid first at your place, then only apply.
Sometime i can get 1mpbs, sometimes can get 2mpbs

i wanted to ask something,

when i signed up for maxis bb,that time their 6gb package normal rate is rm138 monthly
now they hav reduced their rates alot and now for 6gb is rm98 monthly but they told me
if i want to pay that amount monthly i must register a new account and pay rm150 which is really upsetting
coz my contract still got 10 months to go and if i terminate the account now and get a new one,i have to pay rm200 more  cry.gif

but they said i can register a new account without terminating the current account, i mean,is dat possible?
does that mean i have to pay for 2 account bills at the end of the month?

so any solution? i dont really quite get it.  rm138- rm98= rm40 ,man dat saves me alot.   unsure.gif
*
if you got contract with them, then no way to cancel it because of the penalty.
Now 6gb for RM98, FREE modem.
What you can do is
1. Terminate your old package, which is RM138/month.
2. Pay the penalty that you said still got contract with it.
3. Register new 6gb package, RM98. Pay RM150 advanced, then RM30 rebate for first 5 months.
4. Sell you old or new modem.

old package
RM138 x 10 months remaining = RM1380

new package
RM150 advance + RM98x10 month + RM200 penalty = RM1330
- RM30 for first 5 month = RM1180 ( i'm not sure RM30 per month or RM6 per month )
sell you modem ( RM100-150 if new )= RM1080

you still save a lot for long term after 10 month.

Example: 6017 XXXXXX
i wanna register and log in to check the account status online...

*
when i register that time, dealer write the sim phone number in the receipt. Then i use it to register.
Able to login and see the account details.
Already use it for 2 weeks, still nothing to show my usage. Normally how long only able to see huh?

funny maxis, if like that every1 can just subscribe to 1.5GB @ RM48.
how about thier other package? No 1 will pay for 6GB, RM98.

Maybe maxis will monitor your usage for first few months then only cap your speed?

i just subscribe the maxis promo package last week which cost me rm48 for the 1.5GB.
so far i found the line is stable and good enough for my light surfing/etc.
was wondering, whether it's worthy to upgrade it to the 3GB package which cost rm68. anyone?
*
i use 2Gb bundle package @ RM48 just passed 1 month, my record was around 3Gb, no capped.
So i suggest you see and wait untill next month how much you used, if no capped, no need to upgrade. I do not know why maxis allow me use more than 2GB also no capped.

can i upgrade from monthly RM98 3GB qouta to RM98 6GB qouta???
*
mmm....look like your old package paying higher price, maxis never offer old customer for new price.
In that case, i suggest you terminate your current package and apply for new plan 6GB @ RM98. Then you will get extra FREE modem.

I have some quetions here:

1. all wireless broadband packages no contract or some packages only got?
2. for new purchsed package: any activation fee? any handling fee ? billing fee? any ' hidden' fees?
I seen thier website mentioned handling fee & activation fees do not apply, but I stil wanto to confirm.
3. can cancel anytime we want? is that any fees/hidden fees to pay when terminate/closing it? RM200?
4. any detailed term & condition ?
5. all packages now depends to ' quota' , not speed package, am i right? and speed based on bla bla bla... like as they stated wat location... line... etc..
6. need to use sim card? sim card provided?
*
#2:
just view my first bill thru online, no charge for any duty stamp, fees....
btw, my package is RM48 bundle. just paid upfront last time, so first 2 month no charge.
So i believe other package also no hidden charge. Thier website stated very clear, just pay upfront,
eg.
1.5GB FREE modem.
RM150 for 1.5Gb. RM30 rebate every month. Pay RM15 for 1st 5 months, RM48/month after 5 months.

note : RM28 rebate is for 1GB top up quota FREE last month.

hey karheng.
what package are u signing? how come don't have to pay a cent for last month usage?
*
i'm using bundle package, Home value, 2GB @ RM48.
http://www.maxis.com.my/personal/broadband...s_homevalue.asp

No free usb modem, only give big LAN 3G modem. ( i keep it in the drawer, never use it. )
RM118 upfront, so first 2 month no need to pay anything. No trial for first 7 days, non refundable. ( I already test with my prepaid, so no problem ).
3rd month onwards, pay RM48, 2GB quota.
( that actually meaning the RM118 for first 2 month, RM59/month )

when i apply that time, maxis not offer 1.5GB free modem. So this is the best package that time.

Now since 1.5GB FREE Huawei E1762 modem @ RM48, upfront RM150. RM30 rebate for 1st 5 months, this is worth for it.
Only different is 2GB vs 1.5Gb.

Let say if use 1 year,
2Gb Home value - RM118 + 48x10 = RM598
1.5Gb - RM150 + (RM18x5) + ( RM48x7 ) = RM576 ( FREE Huawei E1762 )

I found this thing,

Q5  Can I discontinue the Maxis Wireless Broadband Service anytime after the cooling-off period?*
Yes, you may discontinue the service anytime after the cooling-off period. A handling fee of RM200 will apply upon discontinuation of the service. If you have used the Maxis Wireless Broadband Service for more than twelve (12) months, the handling fee of RM200 will be waived.
*Not applicable to No Device and Bundled packages

so that mean for device pakacge, A handling fee of RM200 will apply for not using more than 12 months although no contract  rclxub.gif  mad.gif  cry.gif

source: http://www.maxis.com.my/personal/broadband..._nocontract.asp

It is quite interesting i saw in web "No minimum contract period", but very disappointed saw above thingy, Rm200 for termination although there is no contract. don't know whether they will charge admmin fee , handling fee for termination?

fees and charging are not mentioned very cleary in advertising/main page of web. we dont know unless we go thru find it in detail and detail.
*
i'm not sure where you found this. But look like that was old package Term and condition.

Mine don't have phone number. Anyways, how long does it take for your broadband to be activated?
*
less than 1 hour. After register straight go home, can use already. At OUG maxis dealer.
They key in the application straight. Even the person said within 2 hour.
I believe if you register at maxis dealer at the counter ( at shopping mall ), it might take longer to activate.
So better register at maxis authorised dealer if you need faster activation.
