Upfront rm150, rebate rm30 for 5 mths pay only rm18/mth then 6th mths onwards pay rm48 thru out or back to rm78/mth? if terminate after 5 mths can ar? i just sign up this package. let me give you a clearer pic.. pls correct me if i'm wrong.. when you sign up, u need to pay upfront rm150 and they will deduct rm30 for the next 5 months. let say you sign up the rm48 package. then you just need to pay rm18 only for the first 5 months. actually for the first 5 months, u still are paying rm48 each month, just that u already paying up-front rm150, so they deduct rm30 each month from there. the maxis ppl told me that if i were to terminate the line anytime, i dun hv to give back the modem, but the rm150 upfront is not refundable. |

u can *manually* remove & reinstall the installed driver:-
1) Install the Maxis Mobile Partner <-- this installer installs the driver + install the dashboard software. 2) Go to the Mobile Partner folder (inside Program Files). 3) Locate the Driver folder <-- Backup this whole folder cuz it contains the WHOLE huawei modem driver for ALL operating systems 4) Execute DriverUninstall.exe <-- this will uninstall the driver. Windows will 'forget' your huawei modem and starts to nag for driver 5) After removing the driver, run the DriverSetup.exe <-- this will install the driver and Windows will start to autodetect the huawei modem components. BTW, Maxis' driver package is v3.05.00.00. The latest driver package from Huawei is v3.09.00.00 Follow the steps above to remove the Maxis' driver and install the newer driver package. |

Congrat to you mate for those who are facing same problem like me. you won't be able to flash the firmware from the problem nb/pc since the firmware update software will need to detect the device first. in order for it to works, you need to have the broadband device working first on other pc. I did manage to install it on my w2k workstation. from there, i upgrade the firmware and the install on my problematic win7 nb. I heard some guys in some forum says, that upgrading firmware may actually helps to extend our speed.
Likely as 3.6 mbps to 7.2 mbps. (E220) Everyone in that forum comments this, no one have give a neg, so I guess is true. Not a rumor. Added on March 24, 2010, 3:11 pmAnd I want to said that, I can't find where to upgrade the firmware. Not "I can't" =.=" By the way, now I cant use my usb already after upgrading it. no serious la ... it gives different meaning
i dont think there's any increase in performance. more probably better compatibility due to firmware/driver update. unlesss of course u are on 7.2mbps line, which no telco is offering that, for now (am not talking about the network capability, e.g. digi & maxis hspa network) ... |
