Haha, just like my experience wth the check-in staff asking for family combined seats last year but instead 3 of us were seperated!!

So, you shouldn't ask them in the 1st palce..just do it quietly like those mat sallehs...They probably close one eye rather than answering the difficult question bcos of the AA rules..kenot breach the rules mah but can close one eye if no one asking..haha

But the other white guy asked her if he could sit in front (first row) and she let him! I was wondering how come she didnt tell him it's the hot seat and that he has to pay for it etc. Really hate these double standards, like as if we're paying any less than these mat sallehs.

Hi Cas,

U could have got the same stewardess or crew I got when I flew to Bali laz year. Read my earlier post here. People tend to give excuses for them just bcoz we are flying budget and paying cheap fares. But it is simply a case of lack of training and poor professionalism shown by AA. Thats why, going from experience, I still prefer to fly MAS if I can get good fare.

But when paying double & triple for the fair on the same date and promo will not make u happy either using MAS as I experienced on the new MAS 737-800to, Taipei recently..

I'm comparing Rm300 diff in ticket pricing & yes you get friendly & more hard working MAS stewardess wth never ending requests bcos food & drinks is free but lousy. U get blanket/pillow too but I can tell you that plane is worst than Air Asia A320!! narrower, and limited toilets bcos the front toilets reserved for biz class...And imagine long que to the toilets. The so called info entertainment set also shared & not individual..

So for me there are pros & cons on using budget airlines...AA planes are not as bad as ppl think if comparing wth MAS 737-800 (Worst they going to change all their plane to this model soon!!)

Budget - Value for money but poor ground & sometime discrimating services. Food actually much better although need to pay.
premium airline- Paying double for the lousy free food but getting better attention from stewardess & ground crews. Better airport KLIA.

Well i will still choose budget biggrin.gif

Cas, why not post this double standard to http://blog.airasia.com/ and hopefully Tony Fernandes can rectify the issue..

That's why my motto when using AA, just do it without asking. Even I do it by smuggling titbits & drinks to the plane which will further reduced the cost brows.gif sad.gif

Well AA did that b4 & if I'm not mistaken end of last year flight to Tianji were mostly cancelled due to weather???

Normally instead of 100% cancel, they do flight cosolidation which is pretty norm nowadays by AA...i.e let say 3 flights per day will be consolidated to only 1 on that day to reduce redundancy...Me kena twice liao...

weather issue? impossible, London having weather issue but the flight still haven't cancel
i heard rumour is about the airport tax?

QUOTE(Cas @ Jan 28 2010, 01:10 PM)
AA Indonesia is horrid!! I was on the way back from Bali and the flights were not even full. As I was sitting at the back of the emergency seat, my husband and I wanted to move in front because everyone knows the emergency seat area usually has bigger leg room. So instead of just jumping in front, we politely asked the stewardess if we could and she crapped us and said it's the hot seat!! Like WTF! Said she'll help us move to the front later bla bla bla (Which she didnt btw)

Then out of the blue some russian couple just sat in those seats we wanted and she didn't even say a word to them!!!

Talk about double standards la.

Even before the flight took off, another white guy wanted to sit right in front (hot seat) and she actually let him go!! Service was bloody horrible, they kept talking and talking instead of serving food. And if you want to order certain items on the menu you'll have to wait 20 minutes before it arrives!!!

if i were u, i would complain to Tony Fernandes by mail or letter
state the flight number, date, name of the stewardess
and then let them enjoice by management laugh.gif

In November 2009, I had tried to book and pay for tickets on Air Asia website. After submitting the said payment on their website, nothing appeared on the web browser and no email was sent to my email address. When I received my credit card statement in December 2009, RM2682.92 was billed by Air Asia for the said failed transaction. I was not notified either by phone or email of this said transaction.

I wrote to Air Asia on 21 December 2009 and was told that they needed between 30 to 60 days. As I did not receive any reply from them, I wrote to them on 17 February 2010. Air Asia replied asking for the booking number. I have already indicated in my intitial correspondence with them that I did not receive any information of the said transaction except that RM2682.92 was billed to my credit card! Air Asia did not bother to contact me till I had pursued the matter - reflecting their of interest in resolving the matter - since payment has already been made to them.

I do hope that this posting will encourage those who do not check their credit card statement regularly, to do so. Also, it is to highlight that such silent billing can be executed by the merchant.

Well, I am still waiting for Air Asia to resolve the matter...

Wow, this is what I fear the most on times when there's a sale on AA and everyone rushes to book causing the system and payment to be slow. I think yours could be a one off thing coz previously, my payment methods used to go on time out a whole lot because of the congestion but it never got charged to the bill. But I hope they'll be able to resolve your issue soon!
