Then why isn't one movie enough for this one? Because LOTR is not as epic?
No. LOTR is epic and it deserved 3 movies. The Hobbit on the other hand is hardly as epic and the only reason it was stretched to 3 movies is because of Peter Jackson's greed and indulgence.
In my opinion one movie should be enough for The Hobbit.
For me, the 48p in Gardens was worth it. For RM32, you get physically excellent seats, no queue, 48p and the best of all, THX. But I do admit the hot dog was abit expensive. RM7 is like a KFC meal.
48p works fantastic during the action sequence. But it kind of dulls down during dialogue session. Maybe it was the camera angle, maybe it was the characters. Not as 'memorable' as the Fellowship. Heck, I can't even name a single dwarf. Ok, ok, The Hobbit was originally meant as a children's book.
Actually the stone giants match is an integral part of the plot just not the way it was done in the movie. Nevertheless I love that part. But seriously, Hobbits can't be make into one movie. It will need at least 2. Why not make full use of the appendices to tie the story in better to the Lord of The Rings considering that his next book was 17 years in the making.
I heard there will be 25mins extended version coming in later for home videos. I can't wait to watch that too.
Apart from the rock giant fighting, this movie is great to watch....
Luv the part when thorin come down from the tree to take Azog 1 on 1.....He did have the aura of a king to me......but too bad he was owned so fast by Azog.....LOL....I thought at least he will take down the beast 1st before getting owned by Azog.....
I bleed it out, Diggin' deeper just to throw it away!

The Hobbit as one and only one movie? it'll be too rush and too compact, with no time for character development & such
imagine you'll see the goblins kingdom & gollum/smeagol very early on, then smaug in the mid movie, then the war of 5 army at the end, too many things happening, too fast, you'll be hardly got time to digest the story, to know who's this & that, and admire the scenery

not really .. i guess it should be at least 2 movies.. 1 movies would be too rush and less content to be inside.. its made for the fans though..
Yes. This movie is made for the fans. Peter Jackson's fans to be precise. Tolkien fans? Not so much.
Hmm.... never thought about it this way. I wouldn't consider myself a Tolkien fan, but if you'd ask me if I was a fan of Peter Jackson's work, then yeah.
I think I will enjoy the movie a lot more in 48fps, given how much of an issue I had with IMAX 3D.
