Huh... It sounds like she sprained or dislocated her leg. Does your cage have very tall setups she can fall from? I've had many robos but no case like this wor. Then again nothing in my setup is taller than 4 inches other than the wheel. Is she moving ok? Got picture? And what wheel are you using? The ones with gaps in between? Maybe her leg got caught in between. Robos are very tiny after all.

Please weave the wheel with a cardboard paper / manila card. It can even hurt syrians, let alone small robos. As you know, hamsters love the wheels and they will run like crazy inside it. Wrong step and the legs can get into the holes while it's spinning fast... unsure.gif I can't get myself to imagine, it's horror! Hmm... anyway, maybe u should take out the wheel for a while until the leg heals. Constant use of that leg will worsen the condition, I think?

Hope your robo gets well soon! smile.gif

Wah... Looks painful. I think its leg really got caught in the wheel. Can you imagine, the wheel is spinning very quickly, then suddenly one leg accidentally got caught in 1 of the bars. Then it cannot pull its leg out instantly + the speed of the wheel rolling... It'll be like wrenching the leg out of its sockets with lotsa force...

Cannot be sure la but if it's sprained leg, I dunno if it applies, but one of my GP got its leg caught in the grill before and sorta sprained her leg. The vet advised me to take out any items that can cause her to exercise (like stairs to second level, or putting the food dish and water bottle too far away or in your case the wheel). If possible, put her in a smaller place so she can't do anything but rest. Using the leg too much will make the healing difficult.

So just make her so boring that all she can do is sleep. My robos just sleep when they're bored. My GP's leg healed in about a week la, and results can be seen in a couple of days.

If the situation doesn't get better maybe you should bring to a vet? Though I'm not sure what a vet can do for such a small hamster...

Consider changing your wheel so it won't happen again. The price of a wheel can let your robo be risk free of this kinda situation o...

good luck and I hope she gets better ya?

I think your hammy sprained it's leg when running in the wheel. You need to take the wheel out and let the leg heal itself. I think its the wheel that caused the sprain. You might need to consider changing the wheel to those without bars.

Maybe you can get a wheel without holes. From the picture, it looks like the leg can still get stuck. A good quality wheel would be the 6.5inch Silent Spinner smile.gif

Don't need to cut, provide lots of bedding for them to dig, it will wear down naturally, unless it's really really long.
