by the way, guys and gals,

when you all say "tame", can further explain.

I can hold my 2 RC tho they try to get away from my hand.
They will come forward to the cage front when I am approaching.
Even when they are sleeping, they will wake up when I sit and watch.
Is that consider tame?
Edit: One more thing, sometime they like to nip my hand but one in a while they really bite till can see blood. Is tat normal?
*
maybe they bite coz your finger have food smell..
for me, tame is that they they dont scare of you...

For me tame are (based on my hamster, each has a degree of tameness):
1. I come near and put my hands in the tanks, the come sniff sniff (not biting) instead of running for their life.
2. When your hands in their cage, they will step onto your palm or at least walking on it instead of running for their life.
3. when u try pick them up, the will not turn their body and try to bit you or run for their life.
4. When u manage to pick them up and onto your palm, they will not fly out of your hands, instead they will explore and sniff sniff. No biting.
5. You yourself is not nervous like hell waiting to be bitten because you know they wont. You can feel their trust in you actually.
6. (this is only MoFo), when you poke poke them they just ignore it or they just try to sniff sniff your finger/hands because they want to be pickup. smile.gif

I never been bitten by any of them. Well, the babies tried before, but I back off when they get agitated and sakit hati with me biggrin.gif I still dont allow my 9 yrs old sister to pick up the rest of the babies, when she came visit, only MoFo is allowed to be pickup by her (under close supervision) because I know MoFo won't bite if he is accidently been roughly handled.

I feel so much potential in the hamster owners today. Back when I was breeding ppl complained about the price. Now everyone seems to want to grab them. If anyone wants to learn about syrian genetics and about the BHA standards or even start a project on it, don't hesitate to ask. smile.gif

Yerr... So many ppl are going to have mice. Why not rats? They're so much better than mice and hamsters. It's year of the rat after all, not year of the mouse or hamster.

huh... i hope i can hold my robos on my hand.. they r scared of my hand, even i put some treats on my hand n let them come, they don come also..

there's 1 thing very weird.. b4 tat they have a ladder to upstairs. B4 tat they r thin so they can go thru the ladder, but now alrd fat, cant go thru n stuck in the middle.. when i saw it i quickly make them out then i close the back of the stairs wif some cardboard. of cos they can still climb it but dono y after 'renovating' their stairs, they don wanna go upstairs anymore. until i take off the cardboard then only they climb upstairs. any reason y?

I cover like tis.. but now take off alrd.. i've used another method to cover the stairs.. hehe
[attachmentid=384040]

also, y they like to swing off the beddings to the corner? they don like the beddings? c my photo.. there's places without beddings cos they jus kick it off..
*
Not all robos are friendly.... it is their nature to be scared and cautious of everything.

Anyway, you should change your cage into a tank. It is dangerous to keep robos in the cage you are using. Habitrail cage is fine but not the one you are using.

Why they do not climb the ladder when you modify with cardboard is that it is hard to grip while climbing....

juz wondering...in wild...does WW will attack the injured and bleeding one of WW??
*
Yes, they will. If the injured WW is in another WW's territory, the strong one would protect and defend its territory by fighting off another.... it would kill too.

RCs from petshops are rarely tame.... they are the best to be in colonies but if you get those that are from petshops, they will bite..... the RCs from breeders do not or can say rarely bite.

Sometimes wws will suddenly not get along with their siblings even though they are the same sex. The exact reason is unknown, but it happens. If one of them gets pregnant and behaves like that, then it's because she's becoming very protective over the place where she will raise her babies. Sometimes it can be due to dominance. That's why we recommend that it's better to keep them alone, if really itchy to get more than one, get single sex pairs, if fight then separate lor.

Come, feel so free, let's share some old time pictures of baby syrians.

Golden, red eyed white, silver grey and blonde.

^^" I only feed boiled eggs to my hamsters when one of them give birth. Then only they will eat. otherwise they don't enjoy it much... And they don't like the yolk lar. They always only eat the egg white.

My robos climb onto my hand. They will jump off and climb back and jump off and climb back. Seem to be their favourite game. But they take food from my fingers la. It's so cute when it stands up and takes the food with its hands. Sometimes my female likes to nip my fingers, not hard hard lar. Just softly but i think she just likes to. She nips and climbs on my hand. Very much like a habit.Consider tame a not ar?
