Whats the advantage of this P1i over P990i?

The main problem with my P990i, no chinese input

for p1i, HK n SG FW allow for chinese input
aside from that, p1i equipped with 3.2mpx cam, lighter n more good looking phone compare to p990i (my personal opinion), hv extra 64mb ram make it more faster than p990i, polyphonic 72 channels, screen for p1i is 2.6" whil p990i 2.76"....i think thats all...coz i never used the p990i before

who know perhaps they can mod the player to media manager UI/walkman 3.0 UI + G900/G700 camera interface and faster responsive UI like G900/G700

Hello all sifus,
I'm an owner of P1i for the last 2 months. Specs as below:

Phone: CXC 162037 R9J005
Bluetooth: CXC 162143 R1D
Organizer: CXC 162156 R6F41
CDA: CDA 162024/74 R10A

I have some problems with it recently - it occurs sometimes only;
i) When I enable the WLAN, the SCAN button does not 'light' up to allow me to press it and scan for new networks - only a reboot would reset it.

ii) When sending MMS, sometimes the message gets 'stuck' in outbox - when i click on the msg, it states a time when the msg will be sent, but very often, this time keeps increasing. Never had such problems with my old W800 which sends immediately!

iii) The unit occasionally hangs - particularly when I have many (>50) messages in the Inbox. After rebooting again, and deleting messages, its ok. I still have plenty of memory left btw - 107Mb in phone, 1.5Gb in MS.

iv) When i receive files (like pics) via bluetooth, how can I set it so that it DOES NOT store automatically into inbox!! Say I receive 10 pics from a friends phone, I now need to open each new msg in inbox, view the pic then only save.... this is freakin ridiculous!!!

v) I tried running the update service, but all it seems to do is launch the flash animation of the SE logo - nothing happens!!!

i) Perhaps WLAN isnt enabled?
ii) This usually happens when it cant connect to provider to send the mms

Guys,
Im experiencing very bad phone signal strength. When I compare with my K810(Same service provider), the P1 signal strength only shows 2 or 3 bars when the K810 shows full bar. I travel a lot, sometime the lines get cut off because of no signal when Im on the highway.
I mean, the signal strength is even poorer than last my P990i. Did any of you guys experience this before.

First of all, this is a touch screen phone. Touch screen... Not poke =) So, if you or your hardcore friends... poke instead of touch... i don't know what gonna happen in future

Like squall said, no harm trying. Go and talk to them nicely... say a few of my friends went to buy as well... also AP set. But why they have complete set... together with extra stylus and pouch... but mine don't have? Try to ask them that way and see how they respond to you...

They turn around with you... you turn around with them add in say that my friend bought even cheaper and get full set. Mine more expensive and not full... how?

most likely software related error. ive got that before. just make sure to end the wifi session before disabling the wifi. if that doesnt solve it, then just try enabling-disabling-enabling wifi again. the scan function will work again without needing a reboot of the phone

I wonder who will be faster in getting it right, the russian dudes or XS++ blokes

have anyone tried or using worldmate software by mobimate??

Actually there is a removable cover under the speaker that covering p1i antenna,
maybe by removing it will help a little bit when the signal is low

Frankly... its pretty crap
gives whole load of useless info.. unless u're always jet-setting.
