i agree on the black casing rationale.

Anyways, it is available 15 Feb 2008. Another 1 and half months for nokia elsewhere. Nokia Malaysia make it mac. coz they sure will be late as always.

Why wait that long for something you can enjoy now.... but if people want to wait, let them. own choice.

IMHO eventhough i like black, the picture shown in the page, is not that wow to wait for.

clsia1001 thanks man. Anyone have same problem with the N82 like me???

Nokia has a CA-100 charger where u can plug in the USB port on PC/Laptop and the other end to the charger port of your N82.  No USB to USB charger though as the phone doesnt support it. tongue.gif , try ebay, search for "Nokia CA-100 N82" and sort out by price+shipment=lowest
*
Oh yeah that's right there's a USB charger for Nokia phones! I remember I saw that when browsing Nokia phone's accessories. rclxms.gif

But scare the USB power not enough, cause SE phones always get different battery life if charge via USB, often shorter battery life e.g. adaptor charger = 2 days but USB charger = 1 day. sweat.gif

Thats normal, GPS positioning and navigation is free, but voice navigation is not, you have to pay for it, around USD10 per month tongue.gif. If you want it free, go to Garmin+Malsing refer to the post on the front page. smile.gif

Each USB port can supply 500mah max. those Nseries battery capacity normally twice that. so USB port cant properly charged it. that just my assumption.

The maximum allowable charging current for Lithium Polymer meant for mobile phone is 1C derived from 1050mA/1050mAH = 1C, meaning that the maximum allowable current to charge a Lithium Polymer is 1050mA, but the recommended value for Lithium Polymer for mobile phone application is around 0.8C. Any higher would shorten the life of the battery and in worse case will turn it into a flame.

Lower C value actually better and improve the life of the battery, meaning that charging with lower current is much better and will increase the life of the lithium polymer battery. However the main concern is that does USB have enough power to power up both the phone and on the same time charging the Lithium Ion till fully charge within an appropriate time?

As indicated earlier USB would operate at 5v 500mA max and the Nokia AC-5E charger (travel charger come standard for Europe market) output specification is 5v 800mA which means USB is missing over 300mA of current. This means Nokia design the charging to be around 0.76C max when the phone is off on the AC-5E while the USB is at 0.48C with the phone power off. But again back to the previous statement, charging at lower C value is better just that it takes longer to charge the device. Anyone can clarify this? sweat.gif hmm.gif

The N82 is compatible with the CA-100, check this link

I asked one of the HP stall, they selling the N82 CSL for RM2100 (still negotiable price he says)

Worth it?
He told me that CSL N82 is considered Original, is it true?

CSL seams to be in the middle between the Original Zitron/Avaxx and the typical AP set due to wide service center coverage as they have service center on nearly all state in Malaysia. Phone wise, aren't they all coming from Nokia? But package wise, its a little different as Zitron give 3 month free trial of the voice navigation? May need people using Zitron set to verify this. Anyone?

Small AP might not have the tools to fix your issue, big AP like CSL has "better" facility to fix problem. Original? The best and for cases like keypad issue, Zitron will fix it for free. AP company? Doubt they even have the parts ready even worse, they might fix it wrongly or experiment with your phone. rclxub.gif

Just make sure the list of item given as some shop tend to change the original parts and replace it with AP "Original" parts (which by the way not original because not produce by Nokia contractor factory or have the same quality) to lower their cost. So conclusion double check the item given. Good thing about buying N82 is that, there is no available AP "Original" parts so most likely you will get full set. Just be careful with the micro SD memory given, make sure its Nokia and its 2GB in capacity and the blue adapter given. Good luck rclxms.gif

CSL is AP, not original..Original Nokia distributor in Malaysia only Zitron and Avaxx...one more forgot the name...
Well, if price is aroun RM2100, why not top up a little bit more to get ORI ( I mean Zitron) as when you search through lowyat.net can see bad comments on CSL... smile.gif

btw, normal AP is selling RM1800++..can ask from Clareen in Handphone garage sales..smile.gif

at that price, wow.....

if the imei on the phone matches the sticker on the box, then original.

if not match forget about it, it's an ap set,

I have use a few nokia phones already like 3210, 7610, 6680, 6630 and N73 and to tell you none of them break down or parts broken or getting loose or even dead pixel on LCD screen, why pay a premium when you can get it cheaper?

What so great about LCD warranty untill you guys willing to pay 300 or 400 additional for it? That is just like paying upfront for a LCD replacement.
About CSL LCD warranty, will they let you claim if you accidentally sit on the screen and half of the screen turns black/damaged?
I doubt they will let you claim, sure got a clause say that claims due to manufacturing defect and not carelessness.
Let me know yah.... biggrin.gif

For SE phone i would recommend buy original cause their joysticks and charging jack will always get loose or damage easily.

Mine does, mine's from Singapore.

You should be able to upgrade your firmware via the net, using Nokia Software Updater.
