QUOTE(bonebone` @ Dec 31 2007, 05:04 PM) I'm a N95 8GB owner and sadly I have to admit, even without flash, N82 take better photos in low light condition, something to do with the high ISO control, N95 8GB seems to blur the image badly with high ISO while N82 won't (read this somewhere, I think the website in the N82 vs N95 8GB startup youtube video). Can be fixed via firmware, but still xenon flash is way better, no need comparison. However, in day light shooting there's virtually no difference. Added on December 31, 2007, 8:39 pm QUOTE(gzero @ Dec 31 2007, 05:39 PM) if you have followed through this thread closely, and carefully, you could have spend nothing, get a navigator much better than nokia's built in software, and map much more detailed than those you purchased from nokia I don't fully agree with that, although Nokia map sux on the details in countries like Malaysia, getting new map for the country you gonna travel couldn't be more easy than spending so much time searching the maps for like garmin mapking etc. Also searching places is really easy with nokia maps, and the GUI actually more easy to use than Garmin. But the navigation in Garmin really rocks, I must admit. This post has been edited by pigcat: Dec 31 2007, 08:39 PM |

QUOTE(clicker186 @ Jan 2 2008, 03:39 PM) Played with this phone before. I had to admit it is something great. It is the BEST phone from Nokia available today. Huhuhu...Have you tried watching video on the N95 8GB? Other phone like N95 and N81 are only made to catch the dust of N82 Also, the form factor really makes the N95 8GB looks more like a multimedia device (and gaming device too!), and also felt much more like holding a digicam. If looks from far you might thought somebody holding a digicam than N95. That said, just the xenon flash...Everytime think about it also am dui and so envy you N82 owners... |

QUOTE(shgx700 @ Jan 2 2008, 04:33 PM) Seriously, if you're in tight budget I can't think of a reason why you can't shell out RM1800 (AP) for this phone if you're hardworking to do some part time job for like 2 months... Or insterested in installment? I think for the price, nothing can beat N82 yet, not even N95 8GB cause it's RM500 more expensive (that is, if you don't include buying 8GB microSD). |

QUOTE(shgx700 @ Jan 2 2008, 05:21 PM) em...maybe i'll take ur advice n work part time 2 save $$$... soon i'll join u ppl... the Owners of N82 You can do less part time but in longer run to pay the installment. Although not recommended cause wills till rugi in a long run.anyway... any harm in getting ap N82?? Actually best to ask your parents to buy for you first, then slowly you pay them back. Your parents are always there to help you out. If you cannot take heart attack like manually change the product code or if you want chinese strokes but there's none on the keypad, or scare if something spoiled have to claim warranty but the company don't accept, you should buy the Avaxx set then. I buy AP because I have a full time job and can take care of the repairs of damages (touch wood...), moreover the difference of RM500 I paid less compared to Avaxx set can use to repair the phone lo. Actually, in longer run if phone no damage, I can use the extra RM500 to change the housing (in the future) so I'll have a brand new phone again. Also luckily Zitron sell the keypad to me so I can change to the one with chinese stroke one, and I reinstalled the firmware to malaysia version by Nokia Care Center for RM30 (you can DIY anyway). Now my unit looks no different from the Avaxx set. As usual, aware of any tattoo on the phone like Vodafone Orange etc etc... By the way one thing worth noting is that Zitron is generous enough to sell you original parts, they don't try to rip you off with expensive labour charge (don't mistaken with Nokia Care Center, they won't sell you parts). Also they don't seems to charge you extra if yours is AP set. I went to SE service center at Tmn Segar, I asked if I bring over AP set to repair, they said they'll charge full price whereas authorized set can enjoy 20% discount of the repair charges. QUOTE(clsia1001 @ Jan 2 2008, 06:46 PM) Me too, i choose N82 because of candybar as well...dun feel is good to fix the N95 slider problem (by putting plaster in it Honestly, after using my N95 8GB for 1 1/2 month now, the slider doesn't need a fix in any kind. It's just hold up everyday use quite well up to date, and I of course hoped it'll perform well before its successor launch. QUOTE(clsia1001 @ Jan 2 2008, 06:46 PM) btw, someone is trying 8GB Micro-SD memory card @ his N95 in N95 thread...Anyone want to try it out?? =D There's no reason why N82 cannot while N95 can. |

QUOTE(clsia1001 @ Jan 2 2008, 07:10 PM) Well, it will and it happens to all slides phone... Aiyo don't curse us la my friend... Actually the main concern on using 8GB mem card is the speed... At least, it's the N95 classic that need repair (and shown on the video), but not the latest N95 8GB cause the built quality has been improved quite a lot since then... But still have to admit, non-candy bar phone will have higher chance to get spoiled... This post has been edited by pigcat: Jan 2 2008, 07:22 PM |

QUOTE(Seaedge @ Jan 3 2008, 01:47 PM) hmmm.. like dat in terms of gps, PDA built in is better. AGPS on HP6965 only download once every 3 days, GPRS or wifi. D810 doesnt use AGPS, hence still lock at least 5 satellites minimum within 10 seconds stationary, 30sec on motion. Shhh...Smartphone with built-in GPS users cannot tahan negative comments and comparisons... i only talk abt gps ah.. not other function. |

QUOTE(NewKid @ Jan 3 2008, 06:08 PM) Downside is, the phone won't charge off by connecting to USB (same with all range of Nseries), and battery will very fast kong if continously charge with travel charger. But still, if can charge via USB, then can basically use laptop to online anywhere liao with laptop on battery. When will Nokia make this a standard? |

QUOTE(rationale @ Jan 3 2008, 11:08 PM) Nokia has a CA-100 charger where u can plug in the USB port on PC/Laptop and the other end to the charger port of your N82. No USB to USB charger though as the phone doesnt support it. Oh yeah that's right there's a USB charger for Nokia phones! I remember I saw that when browsing Nokia phone's accessories. But scare the USB power not enough, cause SE phones always get different battery life if charge via USB, often shorter battery life e.g. adaptor charger = 2 days but USB charger = 1 day. QUOTE(davidhong85 @ Jan 7 2008, 08:46 AM) If i buy ORI N82 from Singapore, can i send it to any Nokia shop in Malaysia to repair if anything wrong on the phone?!!! Malaysia nokia won't do anything for you unless you pay. Nokia phone doesn't offer international warranty, so if you want service in Malaysia, buy in Malaysia. If you go all the way to Sing to buy a cheaper set but in the end it's just an AP set when it comes to Malaysia. |

QUOTE(nevland @ Jan 7 2008, 10:38 AM) 1. Better (more detailed) night shots due to different ISO performance (I think it's software, not the camera module).2. Candybar form factor. (personally I prefer dual slide) 3. Roughly RM500 cheaper compared to N95 8GB. 4. If you consider expandable memory card slot a plus. But expect to pay quite a lot for it. There was the difference in speed of GUI operation, but since the v15 firmware out already for N95 8GB, there's virtually no difference anymore. Other than that, N95 8GB has plenty of advantages over N82 (big screen, battery, music keys, extra pen key for convenient editing, if you play n-gage games, N95 8GB also offer landscape gaming). Is it worth extra RM500? You judge it yourself. This post has been edited by pigcat: Jan 7 2008, 10:48 AM |
