u can check from apple website the trade in value. my m1 only cost rm800

monitor - should be fine if it supports HDMI input/you have a usb-C or HDMI to DP adapter for your monitor
keyboard and mouse - if bluetooth no problem; else if it's wired connection you will need a usb-c to usb A hub at least since there are no longer USB A port on the new m4 mini

bluetooth peripherals is a hit or miss. I'm on M1 macbook air and it's wonky as well. I know it's still happening across all devices from M1 till M4 devices.

Any way which can use ipad as the monitor for mac mini? Be great if can work anywhere with this pair

i've used it before. You can try few ways, use a card capture dongle and app. But that would be quite bulky dock hanging out.

Another way is to use DUET app. I used the duet app and latency is fine. It work with ipad magic keyboard to use as keyboard and mouse. Only 1 usb C cable from ipad to mac mini.

if you can't make it work, here's an alternative:
get one of those lapdocks made for Samsung dex, uperfect makes them. or even protable monitor also ok.

Nobody knows. Check apple website every day until they have a release date. Plenty of seller offering in Carousell at a price higher than education discount but cheaper than retail price.

Won’t be so fast. Other countries available only on 8 nov. plus here not yet pass sirim. If too many preorder then may have stock availability issue.Priority to Christmas countries

eh...now with latest ipados and macOS, need app? With usb c connected between both and some setting on display set on mac and ipad, already can mirror/extend screen. condition is must login in to macOS first before can use

i am using it now again after a long time haven't use it. It works really well or even better now. I had some issues with the magic keyboard on my ipad last time. The issue was the delete key not functioning. Now it works fine. It's worth investing in magic keyboard if you're on ipad air/ ipad pro. since you don't need to carry extra keyboard or mouse.

yes I bought the app but only for wired connection. if you want wireless I think need subscribe or a different price for it.

i think that was sidecar right? If you don't have a main display, it's difficult to set your ipad as a second screen. I've thought about it before and don't think the solution was worth it. Buying the duet app was more simpler.

Don’t think so. Apple will not do that, they want you to upgrade years down the line. Even Mac Studio removable SSD was software blocked, so it is still impossible to upgrade its SSD and can only go through Apple’s expensive SSD pricing…

There is no software block on that. Some already upgrade into 2TB or even more from based 512GB.

There is a software block, you can’t just use any SSDs in the market for the Mac Studio.
The person who managed to upgrade it was using an Apple configured NAND SSDs which is not sold anywhere else (but only obtainable through Apple repair program for same config, or you could have swapped another Mac Studio SSD in)

Need rephrase...there is no SSD in the market for Mac Studio ATM.

Cant doubt that in now still required solder skill to solder the chip.(Where do you get the chips still question mark.)
But time will tell and believe the third party chip will available once the demands is there.. (Although the demand not there or production is not a possible way.. At least i still can swap the SSD by source scrap ssd from a mac studio if my SSD dies in few years.)

Yes i'm planning to get the m4 Mac mini.

Satechi dock has issue with losing power all the time causing ssd to removed abruptly. This issue since M1 mac mini.. even still persist on m2 mac mini. I already didn't use it for many months after getting another adapter with m.2 slot, hdmi output and power with usb so it won't lose connection because lack of power. The dock size also made for old mac mini design anyway. It won't sit nicely with the m4 mac mini.

Will be possible to play games in say high settings?

M4 max might be able to.

You probably can expect iPad/iPhone level games for now, but we probably going to see some AAA Games seeing how powerful the spec of the M4 is and how cheap Apple made the new Mac mini M4.

There are few AAA games available already.

You can also compare it with iPad Pro M4 gameplay of Assassin's Creed Mirage.

Seeing how M3 already can perform quite good, M4 should handle it even better. Also 8GB vs 16 GB ram helps a lot with the FPS as well.

Yes this is probably the beginning of AAA gaming on the Mac. This Mac Mini M4 probably cheaper then the next PlayStation/Xbox/Nintendo.

Since those games are not ported, you will need to install it through apple’s game porting toolkit 2. That will reduce some performance and not sure how it will work with online games also because of anti cheat.

Looks quite promising on M2 Max which M4 is more powerful than it. Online works too.
