For the past few weeks I have been trying to use the iMac as a main display for my Macbook Pro. Of course using side car is the best option and the smoothest. However the Mac mini will have no built in display. I then tried using a dongle with 4K video capture card. Laggy and resolution is too poor. I have tried the luna display dongle, same issue. I have even tried using a wired connection with the luna display. All laggy except for side car.

This sounds like what Luna display does. For Luna it’s usb c but the hdmi dummy it is hdmi instead

I think almost all Apple products for SEA is made in China.  I increase storage to 512Gb and add 10Gbps ethernet.
when did you get yours?  what's your added ingredient?

you sure got 2.5gbps version?  i only see default 1gbps and option of 10gbps at Apple MY store.

Been using my mini M4 base spec since last Saturday and still learning the ways of MacOS... I manage to hook it up to my 2x 1080 and 2K making a 3 monitor setup. I find the fonts on 1080 on par with my windows setup which I can accept as I'm also using the same size and resolution in the office.

Only problem I'm facing now is my Razer peripherals which are not supported in Mac... was able to install razermacos but the mouse would disconnect and would not wake up when the mini goes to sleep. Not sure if I'm having problem with my dongle and need more time to troubleshoot.

Overall I'm happy with the M4 performance but not to say blown away by it... as the day to day internet browsing and youtube feels very similiar on my outgoing 7th Gen i5 windows 10 desktop...

Yes I was using the dongle at the back, will try changing to the front and see... the USB3 in front has better compatibility compared to the TB at the back?

I took's watari's advise and connected my keyboard mouse usb hub to the front and my Acasis SSD at the back port... so far the acasis only disconnected once when the unit went to sleep, got the drive disconnected without safely removal warning upon login...

I think my mouse's disconnection mainly due to the razer macos app did not function after relogin. Disabled the app's sleeping feature and set it to auto start on every login seem to have solved my problem too....
