i've used it before. You can try few ways, use a card capture dongle and app. But that would be quite bulky dock hanging out.

Another way is to use DUET app. I used the duet app and latency is fine. It work with ipad magic keyboard to use as keyboard and mouse. Only 1 usb C cable from ipad to mac mini.
