Thinking of switching to Mac mini M4 from PC. However, I've been reading that Mac OS will not look good on our normal 27" 1080p and 2K resolution monitors correct?

I dont think can do that..else how their accounting is tally with they stock?
Ya, i think by the time we buy, the stock is plenty and you may just order from Apple.com and collect in TRX straight.
*
Any benefit in buying from apple.com and collect from TRX besides the edu pricing?

Plan to get same edu price from Machines using unidays in store, machines provide member points too! wink.gif

They have a 14 day return policy. Even after installing your apps/softwares and using the product for 13 days you can still return it for full refund as long as it is still in good condition.

Is the Mac Mini M4 applicable for shopback? Else the 4.5% upsize is a good point to get from apple.com hmm.gif

Not all items are applicable for ShopBack, but the Macs could fall into the newly launched category

I'm using 27" 2k monitor, don't trust the "must use 4k at least" or HiDPI myth online. I'm not seeing any blur text on 2K without using betterdisplay, I have another same specs (albeit lower end) monitor connects to windows 11 side by side and I can't see any different between the two. Maybe I don't have sharp eye.
*
Yeah i'm not going to pixel peep, so hoping that i can survive on my 27" 1080p and 1440p monitors... i've bought the Acasis NVME usb C hub with 2 HDMI out for this...

*
Yes, no more ready stock in apple TRX.

Also not available in Switch and Machine outlets except a few with limited units such as KLCC. However, reseller do not have EDU pricing for Mac Mini M4 yet sad.gif

Why not just order online since it will just take few days to deliver?  Just bought an Ipad Pro yesterday to replace my 7 years old unit, ordered online too becoz of the education pricing.  Delivery expected within a week.

yeah its selling very good I think that's why stock is low. A very capable daily desktop, also great for light gaming since I still play starcraft and c&c generals nowadays lol

Been using my mini M4 base spec since last Saturday and still learning the ways of MacOS... I manage to hook it up to my 2x 1080 and 2K making a 3 monitor setup. I find the fonts on 1080 on par with my windows setup which I can accept as I'm also using the same size and resolution in the office.

Only problem I'm facing now is my Razer peripherals which are not supported in Mac... was able to install razermacos but the mouse would disconnect and would not wake up when the mini goes to sleep. Not sure if I'm having problem with my dongle and need more time to troubleshoot.

Overall I'm happy with the M4 performance but not to say blown away by it... as the day to day internet browsing and youtube feels very similiar on my outgoing 7th Gen i5 windows 10 desktop...

Are you using the dongle at the back? If yes change it to the front and try.

Yes I was using the dongle at the back, will try changing to the front and see... the USB3 in front has better compatibility compared to the TB at the back?
