Seems like the power button is designed at the bottom of the device.

QUOTE(shyan90's @ Nov 5 2024, 12:19 AM) dunno mac mini will have supprise like Mac Studio having swappable SSD or not..hahah Don’t think so. Apple will not do that, they want you to upgrade years down the line. Even Mac Studio removable SSD was software blocked, so it is still impossible to upgrade its SSD and can only go through Apple’s expensive SSD pricing…

QUOTE(shyan90's @ Nov 5 2024, 09:37 AM) There is no software block on that. Some already upgrade into 2TB or even more from based 512GB. Haha..mine still my daily workhorse..only downside is 8gb instead of 16gb as the time i bought this there is no available 16gb in used market There is a software block, you can’t just use any SSDs in the market for the Mac Studio. The person who managed to upgrade it was using an Apple configured NAND SSDs which is not sold anywhere else (but only obtainable through Apple repair program for same config, or you could have swapped another Mac Studio SSD in)

QUOTE(Barricade @ Nov 7 2024, 01:30 PM) Check out 'Mac Mini M4 ( latest/ 1 Year apple warranty / Book', available at RM1,900 on #Carousell https://carousell.app.link/uxyj5jp3jObCheaper than education price. Sounds fishy I’d rather get from apple to be honest than risking it here

QUOTE(jonthebaptist @ Dec 4 2024, 05:48 PM) Intel LNL is beating these snapdragon laptops, same battery life, better compatibility with x86 and so much better graphics performance.

QUOTE(shyan90's @ Apr 10 2025, 10:27 PM) Now not really got any discount.. all promotion ended..maybe you can try your luck borrow others student ID to get student price... Based on current market you might able get 2049? and another rm200 for comission...so totla 2249 better than you paid full price 2499... But this student purchase might not able to claim tax in next year ya... Why is student purchase not able to claim tax?

QUOTE(soonwai @ Apr 16 2025, 11:43 PM) 6 more months to macmini m5. Really hope the tariff war doesn't screw up the pricing. Will be upgrading from macmini m1. Apple don’t always update their Mac mini line compared to their MacBook line and have been skipping generations. For apple silicon they skipped the M3 line while in the past they also skipped on some of the intel line. Mac mini normally shipped from Shenzhen/Vietnam, both countries tariffed by the Trump administration. Well we don’t really know how the future is…

QUOTE(kmrdeva @ Apr 29 2025, 12:18 AM) Returned my mac mini m4 pro with 24gb ram + 1tb storage and went for the m4 pro with 48gb ram + 512gb storage instead. Figured I can always add storage via the thunderbolt 5 ports (tested with my 1tb nvme in a tb4 enclosure, it was pretty fast) but can never upgrade the ram myself. Am using the computer headless, NoMachine + TailScale working superbly Woah and here I am just with a base Mac Mini M4 hahaha

QUOTE(kmrdeva @ Apr 29 2025, 09:34 AM) How do you like your Mac mini? Needed to up my budget to get 1 powerful Mac to retire my 3 computers at home (dell optiplex 3060, 5060 and 7060). All in one device to be my new personal computer, media server, and vm hypervisor. Yeah it’s a mini power house worth the bang of the buck. I did consider the M4 Pro due to larger RAM and storage, but my usage probably wouldn’t reach that level, so I just save some money and got the base model instead. Was hoping to upgrade the internal SSD in the future once the warranty expires. Hopefully by then the SSD market for Mac mini is more matured.
