Few months back, MBB called to offer me Amex Charge Card. No docs needed, since MBB has all my details as an existing a/c and CC. Forgot all about it, until recently received the MR points booklet. Called up MBB to enquire whether the offer is accepted/rejected.

They say already approved, and mailed to my home (Poslaju), but no one at home  hmm.gif  Well, I did not receive any postcard notification to collect from Poslaju.  doh.gif Asked them to send again, they say within 1 week will receive.

Yesterday afternoon 12pm call, this morning 10am receive from Poslaju.  smile.gif  Not yet read all the fine-prints.  sweat.gif

Is it AMEX Gold Charge Card ? You don't have to pay RM25/RM50 to earn MR if it is a Gold Charge Card.

Turbo 2X enrolment fees used to be RM50, this year is RM100. If you spend less then RM20,000 a year, it is not worth it to enroll. Check my blog below for more info on 2X Turbo.

You can get your Green Charge Card and Gold Charge Card waived. It won't be a problem as there are users here managed to do it.

Hmm it's already appeared in my "Recent charges", I should probably try getting it waived pretty soon right?

So, I call up customer service and go "Hi, I would like to get my MR subscription fee waived."

Something like that?

Scenario
Assuming I apply for a Amex Gold Charge Card, would it be possible for me to move my existing points from my Amex Platinum Credit Card into that account and close off the Platinum Credit Card account without affecting the existing MR points I have?!

@WaCKy-Angel,
hMm.. I'm looking at options to see how I can salvage my existing MR points without having to redeem anything for now. I believe I'll be receiving my RM800 AF soon so better start thinking of alternatives now *grins*

tinkerbel,

Instead of waiting, why not just call to request waiver. If confirm cannot, then ask to downgrade from plat to gold. Downgrade, most likely the points will be retain. Ask them also.

If apply gold and cancel plat, most likely the points is forfeited.

@cute_boboi,
I don't remember when the AF will come; it could be in the month of Jul/August. I figured I'll wait till then, that way I can still get the 10X points when I make purchases from their Platinum partners biggrin.gif

I'll do what you suggested. Am quite certain they won't be giving me a AF waiver though.

i'm in the same situation with you, but i've called the mbb cs regarding this matter and their answer is yes. I can migrate my plat cc MR to my charge card.
