All joint under MBB treatpoints, although the bill still itemise it out.
E.g.
MBB Master = RM10,000 = 10,000 TP
MBB Amex = RM10,000 = 20,000 TP

Total = 30,000 TP to exchange for gifts.

FYI, I earn a lot of TP from MBB Amex due to 2x-5x promotion, as I try to use it as much as possible instead of Visa/Mastercard. From my usage, 60-70% of places accept Amex.

Any difference between MBB Amex Charge Card and Credit Card in terms of benefits and treatpoints ?

I want to sign up, buy mine is MBB Amex Credit Card, not Amex Charge Card. The first 4 digit is different.

I got a call recently from MBB offering Amex CHARGE card. I asked CS what is the difference, since I'm using MBB Amex CC. The unlimited credit, which must be settled every month.

MBB Amex CC also 2x treatpoints, 2x at all petrol pump, etc. Seems like no different with my current spending pattern, hence I decline it.

So far, MBB Amex CC 2x TreatPoints is forever

Hmm... current normal MBB Amex CC already has 2x TP forever. No need apply and pay to enable the 2x. My opinion is, unless you utilise the platinum benefits for personal/business reason, otherwise it is just a Wow Factor to get the card.

Yeah, the higher points stuff looks better in Amex membership rewards

I did a quick comparison to find a similiar item: RM50 Parkson Voucher
MBB Amex Credit Card = 8,000TP
Amex = 9,000 MR

The new Amex Platinum design looks nice

Not me. Even in the future if I have net income of RM1 million/year, I will still think many times paying >RM200/yr for a credit/charge card fees.

I mean, frankly I prefer to donate the RM2k to charity like MAA-Medicare Kidney Charity Fund or something else.

Hmm... my opinion:

- Charge Card = no preset limit, good if you are going to utilise it frequently. How many ppl here can say they use more than the preset credit limit for credit card every month, e.g. MBB Amex Plat/Gold credit card with 20k-50k or 100k/200k credit limit ?

- Higher recognition = yes, like it or not, there are bias merchants around the world, when they look at MBB, there will be question marks. However, so far I have not encounter any issue using MBB in ASEAN, HK and a few Euro countries. But my friend's Citibank SG credit card has problem swiping in Hanoi and have to make long distance call back to SG. Perhaps it is an authentication issue and he did not inform Citibank that he is traveling.

- No interest charge = cause you need to settle FULL amount within 20? days from statement date. Same with Amex Credit Card, you have 20? days to settle min/full payment, which does not charge interest until after the 20th day. But credit card gives you the flexibility to settle in min/full, if you can manage your finance well.

So my opinion is it depends, if you frequently swipe 100k-500k per month and unknown peak/surge usage, then get a Charge Card.
If you travel frequent and prefer easy recognition, get a Charge Card.

haha... I used my MBB Visa/Amex credit card (forgot which one) in Hanoi, no problem swiping. Maybe MBB doesn't care much ? Tidak apa attitude ?
But the first time I used my MBB Amex credit card in SG (just got it the day before fly to SG, no need activate) MBB customer service called me and asked am I in Singapore ?

It was like <3 minutes after the front-desk swipe it for hotel-deposit purpose. I said yes. Check-out time, no problem swiping.

Hence, I'm sticking with current MBB amex credit card, and will downgrade it to classic amex if they don't want to waive the annual fees. Classic lagi laubeh...

Nope. MBB Amex credit card only has 2x TP forever. No need pay RM20/50 every year to join the 2x/3x programme.

I got a call from MBB offering Amex Gold Charge Card. I asked him to fax over the details.

Free 3 years annual fee. No need submit any docs since I have Amex credit card and visa CC with them.

Just to be cautious, possible to be fraud ? Or is valid one ?

1) MBB Amex Credit Card Classic/Gold = TP
2) MBB Amex Credit Card Platinum = MR
3) MBB Amex Charge Card = MR

But if using MBB Amex Platinum Credit Card is getting MR, how to get 8x TP ?

I check Maybank website again:
1) MBB Amex Credit Card Ikhwan (Gold/Platinum) = TP
2) MBB Amex Credit Card Gold = TP
3) MBB Amex Credit Card Platinum = MR
4) MBB Amex Credit Card Krisflyer = not mentioned is TP/MR
5) MBB Amex Charge Card (Classic/Gold/Platinum/etc) = MR

If generally refering to Amex, I've MBB Amex Credit Card Gold for the past >3 yrs, I've never received any catalogue or info or redemption on MR. Only receive TP stuff.
