Oh yea btw, someone was saying the customer service number behind the regular card only opens during office hours right, while the plat number is 24/7 and they'll answer enquiries nevertheless. What was the number again? tongue.gif

@ellimist,
The bill states 1800-889-559. I'll check if the number corresponds with what's stated behind the credit cards but I don't have my CC with me at the moment so I'll get back to U about that after lunch biggrin.gif

Actually I was the one who asked that question - it annoys me that cc don't have a 24 hours number to call in.

The number is actually 03 20500880. Recommend to use this number only when necessary coz worried AMEX might get smart when they realise a lot of people are calling this number.

@tinkerbel ... you can keep the number above in your phonebook as well just in case.

@hye,
Thanks for the information. However, behind the card the 1-800-88-9559 number is stated that it's a 24-hr Customer Service line! Or well, maybe the line is 24 hours but working hours are well, just 10-12 hrs?! *grins*

@ellimist,
I think it's oK to use the 1-800 number because that's written on the CC smile.gif As to the one hye gave, just use that sparingly biggrin.gif

On redemption, my target is only Starwood preferred guest (SPG) at the moment. Redemption rate: 3,500 MR = 330 SPG points.

Not that favourable, but Starwood program has one of the most generous hotel redemption scheme. My plan is to use these redemption for free or discounted hotel stays in Bali smile.gif

Depends on the hotel category. Usually St. Regis and Westin are quite high, both which are Starwood properties, along with Sheraton, Le Meridien and a few more.

Quick question for the regular green card users.

I know annual fee is now waived, or you more experienced users have probably requested for waiver in the past, but is the membership rewards subscription of rm25 pa waivable as well? Anyone requested for it before? laugh.gif

About SPG, I'm aiming for one night stay in Westin Nusa Dua for 7000 points OR 2800 points+US$45

Another night is at Sheraton Laguna Nua Dua for 10000 points or 4000 points+US$60

Normal rates for these resorts can go up to US$250 per night smile.gif

MilesAndMore is right, 2000 points (ie: 21,000 Membership Rewards pts) can already get you into Four Points Kuching, Le Meridien Kota Kinabalu and some other hotels in Thailand, Indonesia, etc.

For those who's interested, W Hotel is also a Starwood property and the points need for redemption is also usually quite high.

Tell me about it!

W Hotels are fabulous and expensive. Not many cities have W Hotels. I think for SPG, you need like 10,000 points + $100. If you use your AMEX often, I guess won't have problem to checkin at W Hotels.

W Hotel is indeed something that set them apart from the rest. There is one W Hotel in Hong Kong. W Hotel will make its debut in Bangkok later this year or next year (i don't remember).

OK, back to topic! smile.gif

Anyway, based on latest catalogue, direct redemption for hotels like Novotel, Marriott, Intercontinental require very high points.

I think the lowest 30,000 MR points only get you to really "old" hotels, LOL.

Few months back, MBB called to offer me Amex Charge Card. No docs needed, since MBB has all my details as an existing a/c and CC. Forgot all about it, until recently received the MR points booklet. Called up MBB to enquire whether the offer is accepted/rejected.

They say already approved, and mailed to my home (Poslaju), but no one at home hmm.gif Well, I did not receive any postcard notification to collect from Poslaju. doh.gif Asked them to send again, they say within 1 week will receive.

Yesterday afternoon 12pm call, this morning 10am receive from Poslaju. smile.gif Not yet read all the fine-prints. sweat.gif
