Same here, all the voucher is still there untouched, , eeh, Dozz, your Amex already entering 2nd year AF ? so fast? Mine i think is around Nov this year.

YEs this is my second year already and they just charged me annual fee i might consider to cancel this card once my gold card is approved.... dont think this plat card worth RM800 at the moment.

lol ,seems most of us here are going to downgrade.. perhaps amex should come out with something different and worth the RM 800 that we paid ! By the way the gold credit card 5x points and lifetime AF waiver is attractive.

Did U even make an attempt to ask for a waiver?! Maybe you can take the lead and ask Amex if they can just downgrade u to a Gold ?!

You're absolutely right! I know for sure in Singapore, Amex Platinum cardholders can get their AF waived easily.

I rang customer service last night, someone told me waiver maybe possible but have to speak to the person in charge during business hours. I already left my contact with them... now waiting for call back only.

With AMEX rewards getting more attractive, would it be a matter of time before they (MBB) "adjust" the rewards requirements as well ? Sorry guys, but I just couldn't see how can MBB make it sustainable.

what T & C for waiver ? i dont think they will just accept one call asking for waiver , i have asked several time and the answer is still the same.. keep using the prestige platinum card as an excuse why the AF unwaivable.
Tinky, in bolehland we always get peanuts la, automobiles , gadgets , you name it . Paying much more higher than others but yet get lesser than them !

The guy who spoke with me last night said that, if we want to renew the pretige shangrila card, we must pay the annual fee. Otherwise we might have a chance to request annual fee waive.

Am still waiting for AMEX call back.

This is just matter of time before MBB actually realized it. Inflation already happen on some redeemable voucher , i just hope MBB can try to seperate TP and MR more efficiently. My M2U will show my Visa & Master + Amex Plat CC = TP , in fact Amex falls in MR category !!

As i aware, for plat credit card we earning TP but we could redeem on MR category items

only MR item is redeemable for us, can't redeem TP item as i have tried before.

am i wrong in thinking that this card is much much much more better than the mbb petronas visa?

If I understand you right, if U don't want to extend the Shangri-la membership, there's a possibility of getting AF waived for 2nd year?! Anyhow, please do keep us informed on whether U get the AF waived. Also, what were the T&C? Mine me asking what was your annual spending with Amex? *grins*

An associate's associate apparently got his AF waived but he spend in the region of RM1m p/year. I spend nowhere near that amount hence, I popped the question at U U could PM me if U like

You don't have to worry for Maybank All this 2xMR/TP is made possible with AMEX charging their merchants a higher merchant fee compared to VISA/Mastercard. In the US, the AMEX credit card issued by Bank of America is giving 1.25% cash back. For certain cash back credit cards issue by American Express US itself, the cash back is 1.5%. So giving us 2xMR/TP for every Ringgit swiped is a peanut for Maybank/AMEX Malaysia.
