Which points are more attractive? TP or MR?
Am thinking of applying an Amex during the treats fair next month.

I'm not familiar with MR. But have been getting TP for eons.

Last time TP is good, now got inflation already.

Currently using my MBB Amex credit card for the 8x. Also got Petronas 5x CC  tongue.gif

5x for telco is good.

But the 5x is MR not TP. You have to remember that. MR and TP are not the same.

It depends on how you look it. For me, I have other cards from MBB that are earning TP and therefore, personally, I think TP is more suitable for me. I don't have MR and if I want to venture to MR, I have to start from zero again.

Besides, MR and TP have different rewards (stuffs) to be redeemed for; meaning different catalogue.

Try to calculate on same item or air miles, MR give you better value than TP.

That could be true as well but still personal preference. For those who have established with MR, they're more comfortable with MR and vice verse.

For those who seldom fly, it takes 18,500 MR for RM100 Petronas voucher, or Tesco or Cold Storage
17,000 MR for RM100 metrojaya
17,500 MR for RM100 Parkson

a few comparison, many more vouchers in at MBB website

@MilesAndMore,
I just noted this:-
5x Membership Rewards points for every Ringgit spent on groceries, petrol, bookstores - Kinokuniya, Borders, Times and MPH - and telco charges via Express Autopay - Celcom, Digi, Maxis and Telekom.

I believe it's a new benefit, right?! And, do U know if it's been extended to the Amex Plat Card?! Hmm.. perhaps I should get this card instead of the Gold Charge Card now when I decide to downgrade my existing one.

I guess this perks is reserved only for the Gold credit card for now. Guess it will soon be extended to the Platinum credit card otherwise it will make the Platinum credit card look bad. The good thing about AMEX Gold credit card is that it is free for life strictly with no T&C attached rclxms.gif

Definitely. I am holding a Personal charge card now. The thing is that i am afraid the credit line given to the Gold credit card might be not enough. I once swiped RM12000 at one go to my Green Personal Charge Card with no problem as it has no preset spending limit.

And i am wondering if we can apply for this AMEX Gold Credit Card using other credit card ?

By the way, please note that they won't be sending out a printed statement for this particular credit card. But should you still want to receive the printed statement, you will have to pay RM5/month.

@MilesAndMore,
I doubt I need to worry about the CL - won't wanna be bursting CLs. Also, I've tried swiping RM15k and RM30k at one go on my existing Amex Platinum Credit Card with no issues; they were also v kind in extending additional temporary CL to me biggrin.gif

The only thing I don't like about this is the non-statement. I love having my statements to remind me of payment *grins* but I guess if I'm disciplined enough I could always get it printed out biggrin.gif

I don't like the fact that Amex Gold CC gets 5x bonus points at all those places but the Platinum holders don't ! *grins*

Eh.. Y put in ur application so early? No freebies also! Wait till got freebies mah! tongue.gif

But I'm quite sure my application will be rejected as I'm oredi holding the Platinum Amex. I think maybe I could just ask for an automatic downgrade? smile.gif
