Hmnn I thought just 200M away from Ningyocho station? OK-lah haha..Walking during end of winter/begining of spring should be OK. biggrin.gif

Reason I choose this hotel bcos having proper attached bathroom for family, and I will be reaching Tokyo late via AAX so by that time, it's risky taking Monorail & subway as close to midnite. So easier to take the limousine bus (900yen) to Tokyo Inland Terminal beside Park Royal- Suitengmae station. And most probably I will try walking 800M North to the hotel..Worst, just stop a cab kua biggrin.gif

Darn..Just found out hotel.com offering cheaper rate than Agoda!! RM184 Vs RM215 Sigh...Too late liao sad.gif

Location quite good...Center of Tokyo.  So near to Akibahara  brows.gif  brows.gif  brows.gif
Big weakness was....it was far away from Train Station!!!

Walking to Bakurocho Station also ..... ohmy.gif

Walking to Shinihonbashi Station also ...  ohmy.gif

BTW...you go anywhere also have to go Tokyo Station first then change another Line.

True that Aug is hot (I'm there every year for Obon) but it also rains a lot because it is typhoon season so it cools down.
Absolutely not true that you cannot use aircon as long as you want unless you were living under some bridge in Shinjuku along with the other homeless people.

Can used aircorn ...but after the Quake Japan gov set a limit electrical usage bar ...your usage cannot over the limit who set by Gov....if not will penalty.

Aircorn used too much of power....if everyday used on noon + night sure over the limit.

last year Aug i used only at Noon...at night temp 36c also no choice cannot used anymore...scare over the limit.

Plus I still remember was Japan TEPCO divided the Tokyo into few section. Section A from what time to what time no power then Section B what time to what time.

Gila babi...specially my section in Noon no power....Gila !! Hot like want to naked !!!

Public Transport (Densha) what time to what time no power ...no service provided. ...Seriously nightmare!!

Darn pening liao with so many diff Subway companies operating in Tokyo. Different day passes & etc..Very confusing indeed to plan my travel. If I buy All lines day pass, It will cost me 1580yen and if nuy single company ~ 700yen/pax.. Adoi... Do you think just buy on spot much better or buy day pass?? Pening liao...

Inside Tokyo roughly one way are 130Yen to 230Yen. Those Pasmo // Suica card for 1 week i put 5,000 Yen iniside. If got balance then return the card before you left Japan. Take back the card deposit and balance.

hi all sifus : )

I will be going to Tokyo mid May and trying to find the best accomodation = cheap + convinient!

Found a few hotel/ryokan/hostel with quite good price. Anyone stay in these places before? Feedback pls??

Asakusa Ryokan - 3000 yen per night
http://www.toukaisou.com/

Kimi Ryokan - 2900 yen per night
www.kimiryokan.jp

Khaosan tokyo original - 2500 yen per night

And Sakura Hostel 4500 yen per night.

Also, since Airasia flight arrives at 1030pm, was thinking to stay overnight at the airport...is it safe to do so? Its only me & my fren....a bit worried...hmmm...

If you just focus in Tokyo only.....no need to buy JR Rail Pass. too wasted.

From Tokyo to Hakone no need take Shinkanshen. From Shinjuku Station takes Hakone Express to Hakone.
