QUOTE(infested_ysy @ Jan 28 2012, 10:40 PM) A question, is applying a visa to enter Japan a must? A few friends and I will be going there for a week next month, and I was told that the visa applying thing is just a recommended procedure, and that you can still enter the country without it. Is that true, or am I being softly trolled? http://www.my.emb-japan.go.jp/English/visit.htmlQUOTE Since 1993, Malaysian nationals are strongly encouraged to obtain a visa prior to entering into Japan.
The visa-exemption arrangements between Japan and Malaysia have allowed Malaysian nationals who meet relevant conditions can enter into Japan without a visa for a period of stay not exceeding three(3) consecutive months.
However, in order to cope with the large number of Malaysians who overstay in Japan and work illegally, the Government of Japan decided to encourage Malaysian nationals to obtain visa prior to entry into Japan in order to ensure smooth entry. yes it is recommended to apply for visa to confirm you can enter. if not, they can deny your entry without giving you reason.

I got my visa application submitted in a breeze, like within 1 minit(no question asked) Now it seems theres no need for 3 month bank statement. A letter from bank branch stating ur account behavior(or whatever needs to be stated) n balance amount should be sufficient. (thus u no need to pay for your bankstatements anymore) time to get back to planning

Don't be a wuss. Get a good thick down parka with a hood. Put your hands in your pockets. I did Tokyo winter for months with that and only T-shirt underneath. KEEP MOVING, stay out of the wind. Want to experience Japan like Japanese? Learn to be tough! otherwise go to America or Europe.

Would that be advisable for going from Kobe to Osaka and Tokyo, then back to Kobe? Don't think we'd be going to any other prefectures for this trip.

Yuzawa ( 湯沢町 ) are inside region of Niigata Prefecture.
So from Tokyo take express bus to Niigata.
After arrive Niigata then change bus to Yuzawa.

hi guys,
quick question. Need your advice in terms of feasibility. i am going to OSAKA but then it has always been a dream for me to take the actual picture of Mount Fuji and to have an actual look at the mountain. based on most of the info here, Hakone seems to be the best place to take a view. Is it feasible for me to travel all the way from OSAKA to Hakone just to see Mount Fuji and return? Any estimated cost? Or probably is there an alternative location for me to view Mount Fuji which is more feasible?
Many Thanks

Best Mt Fuji view are Shizouka.
Hakone are for those travel around Tokyo. Because just away from Tokyo 1 hour 30 minute only.
If you from Osaka then go Shizouka. Hakone wil be too far away. Unless you willing to spent rm 800 for Shinkanshen to Okadayama Station.
Btw, from Osaka to Shizouka by Shinkanshen also not cheap. If go by bus will waste quite some time

Osaka to Shizuoka ...journey takes around 1 hour 40 minute Price: 10,580 yen Per Way Seriously...If want to take Shinkanshen....have to buy JR rail Pass... How to get Jr Rail pass then you have to do your own research... This post has been edited by RegentCid: Jan 30 2012, 09:43 PM

OK- at this point, I settled my hotel liao. booked Horidome Villa hotel in Chou-ku ~ 800M North of Tokyo inland airport is Suitengmae station.. Not bad for a RM215/nite. Proper attached bathroom but room abit small for 3 ppl haha.
