Ok im contractless ATM. Currently on 500Mbps at RM129 before tax. I don't need hi speed and only want to reduce monthly bills. Looks like my only option is 300Mbps at RM119. So is this feasible move? Will my IP be converted to private on 300Mbps then? What do you guys think?
*
Better maintain that price for higher speed in future if the price goes up it can never go down .

Private IP means the router WAN IP is in the private IP range. This is because the ISP ran out of IPv4 addresses and therefore made several customers share the same public IP. Basically it's like a double NAT connection. You can't host anything with this type of connection because there is no public IP that can directly route to your router.

Public IP:
Internet----- (public IP) home router (private IP) ------ internal home network

Private IP:
Internet-------- (public IP) ISP router/NAT-------- (private IP) home router (private IP) ---------- internal home network

QUOTE(soonwai @ Sep 1 2019, 04:03 AM)
Public IP has 1 level of NAT.
Private IP or CG-NAT has 2 or more levels of NAT.

Other than CCTV (the ones which need ports forwarded) or remote web server, not good for torrents. Also Playstations or other game consoles will give a lower grade for your NAT test.

The new firmware sort of changed the interface (or because i am login using tmadmin and not actual admin)? No longer have the option to just choose bridge mode, instead now need to be selected under WAN mode (top level).

user posted image

After set to bridge mode, which port should i connect to? The 2.5 or the 1st WAN/LAN 1? I tried both, not working.

Also, anyone can advise if the fiber plugged in and its fine, is the PON light suppose to keep blinking or permanent?

The 1st pciture , if you choose 'Bridge Mode' the GUI should change, example username and password portion should be gone.

For the 2nd picture, it is for land line telephone, the port is 5060 (for my setting), Account is +604xxxxxxx@ims.tm.com and the password you need to get from TM. After ccorrect settings is set, your phone line will not work immediately, wait 30 minutes to 1 hours and verify.

Hi guys, currently paying RM89 for 50Mbps/50Mbps symmetrical package with CelcomDigi Fibre that using UniFi infrastructure.

My contract end in 10th of April 2025. May I know how soon should I request to port out?

UniFi currently have promo for port into unifi

1. 100Mbps/50Mbps
RM89
3 years contract
Free 6 months

2. 300Mbps/50Mbps
RM129
2 years contract
Free 6 months

Which one more worth?

Thanks in advanced

lowest cost, the 100Mbps plan is better.

faster internet and prefer a shorter contract, the 300Mbps plan is worth it, as you're getting 3× the speed for only ~30% more per month.

Which one suits your usage better?

Request port out on 11th April. Take the 300mbps, 100mbps 3 years contract is quite long, there will be other promos coming.

Thank you. actually, the 2nd pic is after i choose 'bridge mode', then everything is gone other than the land line phone setting.

So, after i saved it and reboot, don't think i am able to access the unit anymore right?

Yes after reboot, you cannot access the unit anymore. But you can reset the unit by pressing the reset pin to force it back to default router mode.
After that you can configure the unit again.

If I recalled correctly, you still can access the unit, if you not reboot the unit after saving setting. During this stage you can configure and test your own router.

okie, thank you. Meaning i've set it correctly, but it didn't work.

My next Q is, which port my router need to be connected to in this device? WAN/LAN1?

Also, does the PON light on this device blinks if the fiber is OK? or should be steady light only?

I disabled all LAN ports except the 2.5 LAN1 port and your router need to connect to this LAN port. I also disabled all wifi. PON light must comsistent light up no blinking.

I think mine is of different firmware version as yours. As once i changed to bridge mode, nothing i can configure except the phone setting you see on my 2nd pic.

Will call technician as the PON light is blinking in green. unlike the power light.
