So if I plug in back my old ONU (white Fibrehome), it will revert back to 800MBps? Since that was the package my office was using before the free upgrade.

You will get 940Mbps if you are using 1Gbps plan

ya we are the same~ in bridge mode i get 2gbps but after X number of hours it will randomly drop speed to 200-300mbps.

I lipoted to 100 again this morning about this issue, insist they send TM own tech support (not partner installer) to come over and fix it. They set appointment tomorrow. We see what TM themselves have to say about this tomorrow, but I highly doubt they will be able to resolve it, since everyone else is also facing the same issue as I am.

Having same issue, my office upgraded to 2gbps and given the black onu, run in bridge mode will drop speed after several hours/days, not only speed drop, the ping to google dns also randomly drop

Now using old ZTE onu and limit to 1gbps and testing.

My office need internet for branch VPN connection, speed drop are very annoying and greatly impact the connectivity

Update : Someone from TM called me just now and pushed the appointment schedule earlier, instead of tomorrow, they are coming today in the evening. Not sure they are giving me preferential treatment becoz I rant about this in my X posts.

Hi Guys,
Just received a call from TM stating they will come over to upgrade my 800Mbps to 1Gbps.

Having read some of the comments here, I have a few questions which I hope you guys can help with:
(1) Is there stability issue (read intermittent speed reduce) with the new 1Gbps router?
(2) Can I re-use the existing Huawei BTU? I understand the speed might be down to about 940Mbps, but I am ok with that as long as it's more stable.
(3) I am currently using my own router (Mikrotik Hex and Asus XT8 for wifi). Should the TM provided ONU is stable at 1Gbps, which router is recommended to support 1Gbps throughout my home network?

Thanks.

Their combo box, regardless of what brand, is problematic. It's like they never do proper research and testing and then just shove the device to us. If you don't really need the small 200MBps ish increase, just stay at 800MBps and ask for package price reduction instead.

Haha...me too. Tech no yet call but the sales office or something call to confirm my auto upgrade last week.

Also got exact same question as you as I am using Asus GT-AX11000 that is way stronger than TM ONR and can cover my entire house. I doubt TM ONR can cover them (my old Asus RT-AC56U cannot cover all).

Also my households rated heavy users (at least over 100% more than avg ppl with 800MB subscription based on Unifi APP with more at least 5-10 IoT devices connected.
Even if it limit to 940MB, still ok, still an upgrade with doubling of upload speed, especially useful when work from home with OneDrive uploading.

Now issues is with stability, the same with your question if using ONR as bridge for 1GB, or else I will use back the old modem (if they don't bind the ONR).

went and recontract at tmpoint for the SWU 4.0

ask for the rm119- 300mbps, free 6 months - recontract 24 months

Did not want the new router/combo... but was forced to take it.

Also had to sign up the rm39 tm mobile line for three months...
was told I can terminate it after 3 months.
