Done all that even before you suggested. Can work in phone.. They probably detected this is hotspot modded modem or something.

Or they follow Umobile, when put prepaid sim in modem immediately disable from working. But I don't think that's the case. because when I put it in my old non-modded 4G modem , it can use the 4G data with hotspot running of course. This Yes only give 12gb hotspot, so this is just a temp solution until I figure out what is happening .

I just gotten my U Home 68 bundled with ZTE MC888S and I'm just terrified to be getting this speed, 5G with 2 bars only... Meanwhile on my phone I can get 60Mbps on 4G. Is this really a router issue?

Wrong move if all you could get is 4G signal. I would recommend celcom if your area only support 4G signal.

You could try move the router next to a window. 5G signal don't penetrate walls easily. It will affect the signal and speed. Hopefully you'll be able to find 5G signal these way even if it's only 2 or 3 bars. Then you can set the router to lock 5G bands so that it would only connect to 5G.

Yep. The ZTE router pulls signal so weak due to the chipset. I have the same issue, I am now requesting to change to Kaon router. Hopefully UM approved my request.

wah.. was looking at the DWR-U2000 5G mifi to use together with my U Home 5G, initially planned to add to cart for 10.10..
how bad are their portable 5G modem?

Are there any recommended alternatives for 5G mifi that is around 600-800 range?

I'm using Olax G5010. Portable with internal battery but a bit bulky. Excellent performance though - it is capturing 5G indoors at an area about 500m outside official coverage where I can get between 150-180Mbps on average

I already tried 4 different 5G phone IME before. No go.

As for Umobile, last time tried their prepaid, even use phone IMEI in the Router, no signal.

I have tried both. Kaon is worse signal reception than ZTE. Kaon using mod firmware specifically for Umobile. Can't unlock at all.

ZTE can still be unlocked if you have the code.

Really? Kaon is worse than ZTE? How come? Because it's cheaper is it?

Because KAON use a lot more cheapskate materials and components. As bad as the ZTE is, i still believe it's way better than the KAON one.. sweat.gif sweat.gif

Got. Put sim into phone, all working well..

Wonder if it's firmware related..

Can't even login onto 192.168.1.1.
