how to make sure that the helmet do have ECE or SIRIM certification, just check on the helmet and the box or still have any other way to check online ?
check on the helmet itself...just coz its branded and a common model etc doesnt necessarily mean it has the correct certification marks on the helmet itself. law enforcement can still confiscate the helmet if there are no markings on the helmet, even if its ECE certified in other markets.https://www.bikesrepublic.com/featured/excl...-into-malaysia/
some pix on this site of how the stickers are like at the back of the helmet.
for ECE, there will also be a white label on the chin strap (E*) to also indicate the ECE certification.....like THIS (E11 in this example)
when KYT first entered malaysia they didnt have SIRIM cert but instead had a JPJ approved sticker like THIS...not sure if its still the same or theve changed to SIRIM now.
note that any other certification like DOT, SNELL, SNI etc are NOT recognized to be street legal in malaysia no matter how "good" people claim them to be.
for the helmet to be street legal, it must have one or both: SIRIM or ECE.
