Different helmet topic....

Why lah.... every time go look at helmet shop fella sure ask what bike you ride ah?

It's like looking at condoms and salesgirl come ask you how big your kahuna is ah?

Many have the mentality that full face can only be worn if you ride big bikes.

Those days when I was riding Vulcan . Many members laugh at me
Because I wear full face ( and full safety gears).
They laugh and say ride this type of bike must have the Harley rider look only gaya. You know, Harley rider look.

I always just tell them I ride a 1982 Honda C70.
Which full face helmet suit my ride ah?

I know what is their response.

"Kapchai? No need full face lah! How fast can you go?"

Obviously they never seen kapchai rider with a smashed face or broken jaw after a crash.

Still a valid question.

But the distinction is a very fine one between a touring type helmet and a sport helmet. Viewing angles and aero is slightly different between them.

Case in point, in my MT atom modular, I can't see shit in a tuck position when I rode my friend's zx6r. Also past 150, there was an insane amount of buffeting and lift on the helmet that gave me a headache.

There is a reason why a sport helmet usually don't have integrated sun visors. It's due to safety and the thickness of the EPS on the brow (due to the space needed to retract the sunvisor). Thick EPS on the brow means your vertical viewing angles are affected.

Aktwali, the nice guy from HJC explained this to me when I throw him this question.
It's about riding position and aerodynamic.
However, he also said many shops ask to gauge how big your dick is and sell you larger condom.
Not about how well lube you are for the action.

Yeah, this is the part I can't brain. Obviously if you can afford a superbike, affordability of gear isn't an issue. The irony is, I'm sure they have a few sets of it at home.

Sure you might have full confidence of your own ability not to crash..but I can't say the same about the other road users, all the time. Just look at the recent karak crash that wiped out 5 bikes. They weren't really doing all that fast, just that someone else didn't see them. Anyone that has ridden a fair bit of miles will tell you all sorts of close calls.

But I have been seeing older gentlemen on smaller scooters (mostly adv150s) in full gear now. Must be newer riders dumping cars for bike for the daily commute.

Why wouldn't they? Hahaha.

No point trying to sell you a rm68,000 Shoei if you ride a kapchai................

My late grandfather, bless his soul, when he bought me my first bike (EX5) when I was 16 much to the chagrin of my mom....., just had only one thing to say to me when we went to collect the bike. 皮包铁. Translated "skin wrap iron".

I would very much appreciate a few more extra layers of fabric, foam and plastic over the skin.......

Although I only rode the EX5 for a year before going overseas and another 6 months on my FZR..... Some 25 years later when I got back into biking, those words still rings clear.

Sadly many don't take this phrase seriously. Some even laugh at me saying if so scared might as well don't ride.

race to the bottom. Nothing beats leather.

Worst is the PU material. All start to crack and peel after a year.
