This again I would like to second.. we tend to get deviated when we buy 'branded' cars and most of the time dismiss some quality issues in our Hondas/toyotas etc.. the fact is their QC is no much better as proton's 'tak-kesah' attitude even when considering they go by for example toyota 'the toyota way' standard..

Malaysian ppl easily get blinded by brands.. imho thats the secret behind honda's and toyota's success in the SEA region.. imho.. just slap on a brand.. ppl will buy in droves smile.gif

..thats why im still driving a honda even that i know this..  im blinded by the H whistling.gif

You better be blinded by the H than the P, otherwise you will forceably cleared your leave just to send your car to SC.

I agree with what bro FASAP said, ppl tend to be blinded with brands, but I hve owned Proton before, 1.3cc to be exact for a year,
and I never had any problems with it albeit my family being a Honda supporter since the day I was born!

My father, brothers and my mum, strongly advised against my decision, but I bought it anyways, not to proof a point to them
but to proof to myself not all Proton cars are made bad.. rclxms.gif

"Proton's QC is much better than Honda???", "Ppl tend to be blinded with brands???"...

But is true wat proton QC is really bad...new car few months power window kong on driver side..changed 1 time thn use half year kong lagi...walau! 1 power window panel is around RM250 including installation. After tat, passenger drvier side's power window kong lagi. doh.gif wat to do...changed it again..RM250 gone lagi. Now change to metal panel already, i think will last longer than be4 ler... Beside tat, door handle also kong for both side rear door. changed it for RM50 v painted for 1. Drawer handle also kong...changed it again! Not only me facing tis kind of problems, my fren also facing the same problems in his Gen2.

So, if i buy City...also will face tis kind of problem??? Won't gua...My fren drive a 11 months old city, so far he very satisfied with it wo. I also got test drive his car... far better than Proton anyway...thumbup.gif
Btw, Wat u pay is wat u get!!!

Juz my 2 cents!!! Dun shoot me wo...hahaha!!! tongue.gif

I've been driving my 3rd gen Vtec for close to 3 years now since early 2004 and i still haven't experienced any minor or major technical/problems.

I don't think you can attribute this to either luck or coincidence, though.

I suppose it can be justified by stating that 'the price tag pretty much sums up everything the car is meant to be or ought to'. The opposite has a tendency to be true, no?

Pertaining to the whole bid deal about branding, if it doesn't meet our expectations, it doesn't deserve to have a share of wallet or anyones, for that matter.

I hope the third sentence didn't offend anyone.

My car has arrived the PORT. HAHA... 2molo dad go settle the $$ issue.
Jimisar Sdn Bhd is the only official seller for honda in kuching may be sarawak so it's kinda da like monopolied here. If consider paying abit extra rather than wait until next year.. it's worth it, coz short of car to use. haihz..

wat plate no. nice hoh, 2828 nice ah? brows.gif now is 27xx

hmm.. actually city does have it's own disadvantage.. but nobody mention it before.
i drove city for half year already, and city is not really as good as my expectation.
this is the first expansive car that my family had, previously was a problematic corolla, then iswara, then kelisa...
before i get this city, i had high expectation for it.
once driven it on highway and everyday to work, i found some disappointment:
- wind noise are poor when reach 90 km/h. i expect no wind noise up to 110 km/h or even higher
- pick up from 0 are rather slow compared to kelisa, unless i press hard on the accelerator or changing gear
- the sound from closing door is almost similar like closing a proton iswara door

anyway, i'm still a proud owner of a city laugh.gif
it's way better than all the previous cars that my family had owned.

- cant comment on the wind noise tho coz b4 this i was driving daily a charade espree > kancil > kelisa, then city... when i drove the ct for the 1st time i was like.. omg.. so quiet one... but yea, when u reach abt 120 i hear heavy wind noise, but at 90.. hmm.. maybe its not air.. maybe your tyre bearings are out..?

-i presume ure kelisa is also auto? imho.. its because of the weight of the CT compared to the kelisa, weight to engine ratio maybe smaller for the kelisa to the CT.. thats why motorbikes zoom faster at traffic lites also rite? anyways there is a way where you can out-accelerate your city way past even a manual car at a stop go situation (i.e traffic lites etc). when your at a full stop, go in s-mode, then turn on the 7-speed and shift down to put in manual mode, i.e gear 1. after trafic lite is green, push the pedal until acc to 5.5kRPMS and disengage 7speed mode to enter S-mode. the high rev of the 1st gear will get you moving real fast. Take note that you must disengage the 7speed before it reaches the redline at 5.8kRPMs, if u dont the 1st gear will go in to 2nd and you loose momentum. If you do it right, you will maintain the 5kRPM, and you feel a boost like nos (tongue.gif).. seriously ive tried it plenty of times.. and its damn great thumbup.gif

-This one i have to agree.. the door seems a little rough.. you need quite some force to shut it.. the proton neo has a nice door closing feeling.. far better than the CT.
