Hi guys,

Can I confirm if UnifiBiz is using PPPoE connection with a single public IP address? Is it possible to change the line to WAN line with static IP addresses and have at least 2 public IPs?

My overseas IT admin asked me these questions and I do not know the answer. Any expert here can help before I reach out to TM?

Thanks!

UnifiBIZ used PPPoE too, with dynamic public IP address by default. You can pay extra for 1 static IP address or 5 static IP addresses.

It is normal. First month always charge more. (total around 1.5-2x of monthly subscription fee)

It's a D-link router with 4 antennas..should be the stock router. The router has been changed previously when I switched from Maxis to Unifi.

I've tried restarting router and all my devices but the issue remains.

Doesn't work. The funny thing is I can connect to the wifi via my phone and then hotspot to the devices. I mean if 1 laptop I can understand could be driver issue or etc but this is 3 devices hmm.gif

Have you tried connecting the laptops to your mobile hotspot (handphone)?
If the laptops can connect to the hotspot, then it's the router's issue
If the laptops cannot connect to the hotspot, then it's the laptop's issue

I can connect to my mobile hotspot via my laptop.

My phone is also able to connect to the wifi with cellular connection disabled and then hotspot to the laptop sweat.gif

In this case I also don't know if it's router issue or laptop issue. Cause if it's router issue then my phone should not able to connect to the wifi and get any connection.

If it's laptop issue it shouldn't be able to connect to the hotspot but it's able to rclxub.gif

Another thing to take note is that I actually can connect to both 5ghz and 2.4ghz channel but it just says no internet.

EDIT: Seems to working when I fixed a DNS value (Using Google DNS) instead of automatic DNS.. hmm.gif

EDIT 2: It's funnier that now the 5ghz channel works (very laggy though) but 2.4ghz is not and need Google DNS.

What TM charge you is correct. Prorated from the day Unifi is activated until your bill date, plus 1 month advance. You can get the PDF from My Unifi App or in your registered email. If no PDF bill sent to your email, please call 100 to update your info.

Try to reset your router and reconfigure again. Also check if your Wifi encryption in router is set to WPA2 or WPA3. Some older device cannot support WPA3.

just went to TM Point and asked whether can remove the Ruby pack from my unifi 100Mbps - Super Value YEP 2019

initially said after remove still same price, but after that told me to wait a while and offer me RM99 for 100Mbps without free calls/hypptv, didn't offer me the 300Mbps for same price though

I gladly took it and renew another 2 years contract
