agree the touchbar is good, and yes i will miss the touchbar over F keys..
i think many prefer the F keys because they are pro users that use F keys a lot? probably for programmers?
as a normal users that do not do pro work on my MBP, i love the touchbar. haha.

200g extra is not too bad for a laptop..plus all the goodies that it bring, kinda justify the weight it carries

actually quite a big difference if one is carrying it on the go.
i bought the 2014 15-inch macbook pro at first because that time they upgraded the 2015 13-inch macbook pro but not the 15-inch.
that time feel that paying a bit extra and get the 16-inch is more worth it. but after carry it for less than 1 week i regret about that. that time the weight of it is 2.02kg which i totally cannot tahan the weight to carry it to work daily. immediately after less than 2 weeks they relased a new 2015 15-inch macbook pro with AMD graphic card. Just lucky that before that I reported heat problem of my 2014-inch macbook pro and apple replaced it with the new 2015 15-inch macbook pro for me. but again after 1-2 weeks of usage i decided to sell it away.
after that I get the 2016 12-inch macbook as replacement. but after 1 year of usage i found it the screen kind of too small for laptop and the processing power is simply too weak. so i sold it away also.
then i decided to get the 2015 13-inch macbook pro (refurbished) because i wanted to keep a last MBP with the glowing apple logo. but after use for less than 2 weeks i found that i do not get used to the scissor keyboard of it after i used the butterfly keyboard for one year plus and also the weight is heavier so i returned it.
eventually i got the 2017 macbook pro (4 ports) and use it until now and bought another 2018 mac mini (refurbished) as my 2017 macbook pro battery was replaced for 3 times since i bought it until early this year as i technically left it on 24x7 like a PC, so the battery cycle is damn low which always below 10 even used more than 1 year. the battery literally bloated every 1 to 2 years thus the replacement. luckily all the replacements were free for the 1st time. 2nd and 3rd times were free also because i was using the butterfly keyboard replacement programme although my keyboard had no issue.
now my 2017 macbook pro is idle in my shelf most of the time as mac mini became my daily computer. it is more suitable for usage of 24x7. although it is on intel chip and performance is really so so as compared to m1 but i need bootcamp so i will stick to it for the moment.
maybe next time then i will consider to get the 14-inch MBP when mac mini started to fail me in terms of performance.
