just waiting for the reviews to come out on how much performance the M1 Pro / Max actually provides for real world software.

also does anyone have info on the IP rating ? Main reason I'm using a Thinkpad is for it's basic dust/water protection.

Real world software? Already have the M1 chip as example already. What do you think?

2015...? Seriously...?   rclxub.gif  blink.gif

You guys should have your eyes examined...  laugh.gif

This 2021 bottom looks more like the original MacBook Pro/old PowerBook G4 bottoms before the unibody designs.

2008 onwards up until 2015 has a much more tapered-edged bottom corners until Jony Ive screwed the design up with his thinness obsession...

For all it's worth I prefer the previous 2008-2015 design...

The 2021 design is hideous especially with the stands (legs whatever you wanna call it) jutting out from the bottom... Jobs and Ive will never have approved... tongue.gif It's a good thing they didn't follow the iPhone/iPad squarish design thru and thru... There are things that look nicer on smaller things, doesn't mean the same design language speaks the same elegance on larger items...

In short, another boring design for the next 5 years or more...  yawn.gif

Yalor, when i see it i also surprised why they use back the old design. But good also lah, at least it is their own design, not the copy from existing windows laptop.

Budget is not an issue... I can get RM600+ discount so might consider getting a 1TB ones. It's just i can't decide whether or not I should change. Need some time to make up my mind.

How much storage left for your 512GB? what actually occupy the storage BTW?

I just copy those important ones to my external hard disk from time to time. No proper backup lol.

Well, I guess you might not need 1TB storage then. You can take 512GB and save the money to purchase iCloud, either 200GB or 2TB (it work to expand your devices storage). It can sync and back up your files, across all your devices (iPhone, iPad, MacBook). I find it very useful, especially the iCloud Photo, iCloud desktop, and iCloud documents.

Randomly back-up 1TB is really time consuming, not safe (low security), ppl can access your external hard disk. Or, you could try back-up with Time-Machine.

Another pain of playing games on a mac - that constant struggle of pointing the cursor at the 4 corners of the screen or just CMD+Q and quit the application hahaha!

Any idea/shortcut to disable these in a pinch (like a macro)?
*
LoL....Command Q = kill

you can change it from the setting! Hope it helps.
