If buying a MBP 14" (base model) from Apple retailers like Switch, can we switch out the power brick with the higher end charger?

QUOTE(dikae @ Nov 19 2021, 05:22 PM) Yes but if I pay the extra 40 bucks for the higher end adapter, they will give me the a extra charger? So I will end up with the regular in-box one and another higher charger right? |

QUOTE(dikae @ Nov 20 2021, 01:23 AM) No of course you don’t get an additional charger for only rm40, the power adapter is RM319 Thanks. That answered my query. So looks like the 40 dollars offer is only available direct from the Apple Store.https://www.apple.com/my/shop/product/MX0J2...c-power-adapter if you buy it on Apple website, the option to top up rm40 is to get a 96w instead of the 67w, not both.. but if you buy it from AASP then there is no option to upgrade to the 96w. You can buy an additional for rm319.. |

Is the supply of the new MBP's really so limited? Went to a Switch outlet today and the guy told me all the 512G 14" base model all sold out and they expect the next batch to come in only after 1 month if not longer. Biar betul.....

Any new owners of the MBP 14" or 16" noticed that the lid of the computer is smoother to open and close compared to previous models? I had the 2019 MBP and the lid was very rigid and you have to exert a bit more strength to open it. Is this an intentional design decision or is the new model's lid too loose?

After much internal conflict I finally got the 14" MBP yesterday. Just want to share my weird experience with the laptop. Right out of the box the thing was really underwhelming. Performance was lacklustre to say the least. The auto brightness screen function failed to work. I put it down to the fact that the MBP was scanning files for spotlight and downloading stuff from my iCloud account.
Saw that there was an OS update so I went for it (from 12.0 to 12.0.1). The laptop seemingly came alive after the update and now I think I am at optimal performance. Now this is not my first rodeo and I have owned a lot of Apple computers prior to this. But I have never had such an experience out of the box. In comparison when I first took the M1 MBA out last year, everything was just buttery smooth from the get go. Did anyone have the same thing happen to them? |

QUOTE(andrewtho @ Jan 13 2022, 11:28 PM) Dbrand does not leave residue at all. The premium price you pay for is really worth it, its a high quality 3M adhesive. If I apply the palm rest skin, will it affect closure of the lid? I believe this was the issue for some types of camera cover and palm rest i.e screen and keyboard problems after prolonged use.Been using Dbrand on all my laptops and iPads over the years, never once had any issue with them. Now still thinking of getting on for my 16 inch but still prefer naked to match my gears |

QUOTE(tarm @ Feb 13 2022, 09:04 PM) Quick review on MOFT 3 in 1 Laptop Sleeve and Stand. It’s expensive but worth it. Extra protection plus can serve as good cover when I use my MBP outside. Nicely fit my 16in MBP This is with the adhesive? I can imagine the laptop slipping down without adhesive. And does the adhesive leave any residue?![]() ![]() |
