You can find blueberries in almost any super or hyper market, but the ones I bought were from Carrefour in Midvalley. They're in the chilled area near the bread and buns. They look like deep dark blueberries in a flat square plastic container with a green tape wrapped round it. Decided to buy because they all did not have any signs of fungus or mold growing, which means they're not old stock and they were plumpish and juicy looking.

It's bedding and food source for the mealies. Anything you put in the mealie tank will be eaten, so when they say bedding for mealies, also means food. No, it will not draw any insects unless the mealworms themselves die.

Thanks for the information Reanne..
Midvalley is quite convenient, look forward to get some blueberries smile.gif
Are the blueberries lasting? Usually and appox how long?

spel'it and rafiqos,
Finally, i have decided on hollow section 1 inch square bar and drill two holes there, fasten with screws, replacing the previous flat plate and bracket. Angle plate is not suited with this in consideration for tying cable ties..you know anything that can replace cable ties? Not satisfactory with cable ties. Aluminium plate or sth like that? I want to check out this aluminium plate soon..
well, here's a layout of the section ..
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Do you think this is more improved and straightforward than the previous one?
*

First off, nice drawing!

Although not using angle plates, which may actually reduce the number of welds needed. An angle bar has only two surfaces (L) requiring welding for a single attachment, a square bar on the other hand has 4.

Anyway, I do think it's a good idea to use the steel plate to wedge the mesh in place, securing it with little nuts and bolts. This will in the end make your cage more pleasing to the eye, neat! It's will look supercool if the cutting and welding is done by an experienced hand. A shaky first timer may face some problems in this area tho, a clean weld bead is not as simple to make as one may assume!

Don't let this in anyway put you down! Your idea is worth attempting! Best of luck and do post more of your drawings and progress. I'm really interested to see how it turns out! nod.gif

When you choose, don't choose any that has blueberries that are squashed. If they're all intact, when you open it, choose the softest ones and give your glider first. Soft like a squishy feeling when you gently squeeze it. The hard ones and the ones that are only slightly squishy you can store it in the fridge. It will last quite awhile, but make sure you check regularly for ripe ones.

Wash the ones you want to give and gently wipe dry, do not wash the remaining that you're gonna store.

guys...

if i wanna feed kang kung n sawi...should rebus or just cuci n cut to pieces

and give them ?/

and for mealworms...can give kangkung n sawi just liddat kan ? to gutload

them
*
Sawi and kangkung, normally gliders don't eat but shred them..... give raw is good. Anyway, the best way is to blend the veggies into a puree, then only the gliders would makan but some gliders are picky so may have to mix with some other sweet fruits and yogurt.

You can gutload insects with veggies.

You can keep them for up to a month or 2 if you store in the freezer. Berries such as raspberries, blueberries, cherries, strawberries and cranberries store very well in freezers. You should try making a berry treat for them. Get a couple of each berry, blend till smooth with yogurt and some powdered baby cereal, when thick like milkshake consistency, freeze it in an ice-cube tray. Your gliders will love it.

You can find these not only at Carrefour but Cold Storage, Jusco and also the fruit stall at KL Sentral and the stall at Avenue K.

But one thing about freezing them, they lose some nutrients that fresh fruits have. Here's a link about the storage.

That's a bit too much. Cut back to 15 a day.

Just throw that worm out. Sometimes got weird bugs from where you buy from. I found caterpillar-like worms that runs fast and hairy a few times among my mealies.
