gliders are nocturnal, so giving a light that bright is harmful to their eyes and stressful. The best light is either a red heat bulb or the blue night bulb for reptiles. Evil Pet Safari, hate them for doing that.

That cage is too small. NO NO NO... never get such a cage. Please refer to the 1st page NewbieBetta, we have already placed pictures if suitable cages, never get anything smaller than what is recommended.

Love the stuff on the first page Hun! Those are very good guidelines to observe for fresh glider owners.

How do u plan to kidnap them cfp? shocking.gif

I would love to share it with everyone in a downloadable and printable version, but I dunno how to attach it as it is in PDF format...

Here's a link for downloading PrimoPDF. It's a free .pdf converter. Should be useful for the caresheet!

Hope this helps KP.

broken_string. I've been reading your previous posts. You're really committed to get your suggie well again. Don't give up hope just yet! Make your way to a trustworthy vet (i.e. Dr. Yeoh) ASAP.

Do keep us posted. Your suggie's situation, tho unfortunate, can be a good reference for other owners in the future.

Hope all turns out well for your little one!

Added on February 6, 2008, 2:07 amThe green colour piece is a plate... and the red piece is a bracket..

Is there any suggestion on how to improve on it?

OMG, it's 2am.  yawn.gif  yawn.gif

Actually, this draft was started earlier on just now and manage to finish..

I'd suggest go for the angle plate too! Easier to get your measurements correct and joints will be neater. Also think of a way to collect all the pee and poo at the bottom. A sliding tray, i.e. those used in normal pet cages would be an ideal design to work on.

Good luck with your project and keep us posted silverwineus! wink.gif

spel'it and rafiqos,
Finally, i have decided on hollow section 1 inch square bar and drill two holes there, fasten with screws, replacing the previous flat plate and bracket. Angle plate is not suited with this in consideration for tying cable ties..you know anything that can replace cable ties? Not satisfactory with cable ties. Aluminium plate or sth like that? I want to check out this aluminium plate soon..
well, here's a layout of the section ..

Do you think this is more improved and straightforward than the previous one?

First off, nice drawing!

Although not using angle plates, which may actually reduce the number of welds needed. An angle bar has only two surfaces (L) requiring welding for a single attachment, a square bar on the other hand has 4.

Anyway, I do think it's a good idea to use the steel plate to wedge the mesh in place, securing it with little nuts and bolts. This will in the end make your cage more pleasing to the eye, neat! It's will look supercool if the cutting and welding is done by an experienced hand. A shaky first timer may face some problems in this area tho, a clean weld bead is not as simple to make as one may assume!

Don't let this in anyway put you down! Your idea is worth attempting! Best of luck and do post more of your drawings and progress. I'm really interested to see how it turns out! nod.gif

This is the two frames for the sides of the cage, finally, i chose to use angle plate, reduces the work of drilling the holes for screws..
I think i'm only 60% satisfied with it, craftmanship is just average.. so-so..only.
It's 2.5' wide and 7.5' in height..
Still have a lot to do, only 10% done.

10% and it's looking quite impressive already! That's going to be one behemoth cage. Angle plates is a good way to move forward, for sure.

Can't wait to see the complete project! Are you welding the parts together yourself?
