i dont watch on bilibili live stream. i more on douyin live stream.

normally connecting MY or SG there is stream delay average by 10-15sec back to me depend broadcaster location.

if connecting direct to origin server or CDN there the stream delay will go as 5sec average been tested multiple time.

ViewQwest has bad reputation here and in Singapore

Ya, each platform have their own target, latency too high causing strange feeling of Danmaku.

With lowest latency 2-3s on live, you will be sawing the average people posting video related Danmaku after 2 second of event passed.
Without special speedup of video to catch up, it will happen at the moment of event happen.

If 10-15s, that feeling is, why everyone hahahahaha until 15s the video reached to your side.

So far most of the earning is from the interactive in between host and viewer, so I guess they found out most oversea viewer don't gift anything, just watching, or they keep packet dropping, so 10-15s of latency then.

In past bilibili also got lot of issues on Danmaku disconnected because of crappy connection of TM, until now no more tweaking required, so far so good.
(also having times that it is crazy uploading a 0.1MB of cookies back to log server, telling them I am lagging because of 2M ADSL Streamyx, and lagging more because upload full )
Just the CDN for JS and uncached image on Aliyun MY/SG are still unstable compare with HK Aliyun CDN, 2/10 connection reaching back to origin might hang at least 2s if unlucky.

Most of my tweaking on this network issues is get HK or China mobile resolved IP address and written it to hosts, can get highest speed than the default China Telecom la.

i use server to redirect back to me.

all three also can be used but on different location base on best latency.

Just random find a vpn to watch...
Twitch now distribute different country server randomly to user,and TM got alot of routing problem to some of those server causing streaming laggy...(Even to Twitch SG - sin04 node also very unstable)
Now only can wait the submarine cable fix to reduce the congestion issue on the current routing.
I also just enable the vpn for Twitch every night after 8.15pm and disable after 1am..

I recently changed to cloud flare dns and found that it is much slower than Google and some stuff doesn’t work. Is this normal or just a one off thing ?

Even the YouTube homepage on my TV doesn’t load sometimes now with cloud flare

maybe due to ECS
Google supports it, Cloudflare does not

basically it sends part of your IP along with the dns request so that you could be routed to more optimal servers
with that said there are privacy concerns so some dns servers dont do it

For most popular service like Facebook/Google should not be having big difference about using CloudFlare or Google DNS.
So mostly should be connection issue.

Hi, just curious I'm in 800mbps unifi connection for home.
Will TM provide a WiFi6 router!? Current WiFi router is showing age.
Anyone had luck with TM for a new router?

guys, say, if i have 2 unifi accounts installed at 2 separate, distant addresses, with 1 of a lesser speed (just to get the fibre in), can i interchange the username with the 500Mbps one whenever i need to? and get the 500Mbps entitlement over that line?

think of it like a weekend home arrangement.

wifi 6 but dont think it will be good, spend some extra money and get an Asus router, costs more but asus supports their routers for a long long time.

Ok then, still depend on crazy testing one by one.

The only annoying is strange hang on CDN waiting the reply from origin, may caused website's connection hang on HTTP2 and need a socket flush/cut.
Like DMZJ(comic website), using 1.1.1.1 or opera vpn works fine, but direct connect causing website's connection hang because of packet drop....


Also found out HEVC original quality pushed from Bilibili live(selected IP address, seem like limited to mainland only), not bad, but should have higher latency than H264 original file la.
AV1 some video have, but depend, hope Qualcomm improve in future, only MTK support AV1 HW decoding causing China video website slowing for implemented....


YouTube best, never care about how much mobile users will experience it, AV1 for most video on web version now, while MTK user keep getting AV1 on mobile client now.
Twitch should start testing this year, but still waiting for most users support AV1 after 5 years, even it is enough for decoding using 2 core of Desktop CPU with 1080p@60FPS.

Anyways, the faster the better, more bandwidth and patent money saved for video while also better experience for whole internet in future.

So far only Public Bank having strange connection issues in between Google DNS and DNS lookup, should be the SLD got issues, using 1.1.1.1 solved it.

And yes, it is also a issues for mainland one, they need special setup else it will having bad experience to oversea users.

The worst is Taobao client on Android, using own UCweb engine means it will fallback to build in DNS UDP(Not the latest Aliyun DNS TLS that lookup based on your IP address) and giving you the server's IP address at mainland instead of HK...

I got monitor what's going on.

Around 6.56 PM, the speed drop from full speed to 300kb/s only, so QoS kicked on around that time.

All oversea server, including CloudFlare, will get throttling around that time, so far the lowest is 100kb/s.

Did some testing

Here is my tested result.

When I have 60.50.x.x yesterday, Twitch give me HK/TW/JP CDN video server.
Then somehow UniFi kick me off and back on this midnight, so...
Today I have 115.134.x.x, Twitch give me the origin of Twitch which is Netherland...

The link that choose which server Twitch giving to you are https://usher.ttvnw.net/api/channel/hls/CHANNELNAME.m3u8, it is depend on your IP address that send to this API.
Tested, it need some skill to fake your IP address and client side signature.

After testing using Opera vpn at Asia 77.111.245.10, which is SG, Twitch are giving SG CDN server link to opera.
But, because of Twitch, they still sending you to HK CDN IP address because of, whatever they like, as long as it is Asia server...

So there is 3 solution for you.


1. PPPoE reconnect and switch in between IP pool, like me is 60.50 to get the partial correct address which is ASIA IP and HK/TW/JP CDN server.
2. Using Opera VPN, turn on the VPN and switch VPN to SG, then turn off the VPN if you feel unsafe, you will stay using Asia CDN server until you reload the page without VPN on, will lag after quality switched.
Never let it switch the quality(including switch to background), else the magic will gone.

If lag again, turn back on VPN, reload, video loaded then turn off.

3. Just use Opera VPN, switch it to Asia each time you use it, then fine.


Solution 1 is the best if you scare of Opera VPN steal account, for me, I just use it without login, then opera vpn - Asia, done.
