Guys how much to only pay for the Power Boot without those accessories from Proton?

I got quoted 2.3k for just the power boot alone without utility/urban package and the car came with it so I can't say no.

I saw in Proton service center ~RM2.9k standalone. Not sure about if you do it outside.

Is the "Car came with Power Boot preinstalled" a false claim? plus my SA able to do with just 2.3k made me doubt if they installed this with 3rd party and forcing buyer to pay the premium for their margin. hmm.gif

For me not an issue but common complaint since last year. Some people buy a wide angle mirror and stick on.

Guys, I'm collecting my Grey Exec this weekend. Just wondering, is coating the car necessary/beneficial? I know tinting is a no-brainer, but not sure if coating really necessary or not. I don't recall my parents cars in the past have any coating. The Myvi I drive before this for 8 yrs also okay only.

Coated car need proper maintenance like frequent carwash. Totally the opposite side of advertisements where no proper care is needed after coating.
Apart from that, you need the right car products to maintain the coating as well, or else, it will lose its hydrophobic and glossiness in just months.

Okay.

Another thing, Proton panel tinting says their max VLT is 55%, however this is still considerably lower than JPJ 70% VLT regulation.

How does that make sense?

what brand is it? need to check if they will cover JPJ summon or not, if that is what you concern

some brands offer coverage on summon for some of their tints that are below the JPJ VLT regulation.

Today got the chance to really drive the car.

Love it when turbo kicks in at low revs. Very addictive for sure.

I didn't noticed the whistling/ howling noise at certain speeds as I was too occupied talking to my mum.

What I noticed was the cabin was considerably quiet. That was why the discussion went well.

Aside from the limited adjustability of the right side mirror, I hated the low definition of the reverse camera & the line indicators were not as accurate as I want them to be.
Need to get used to it.

Gonna have to get used to the DCT characteristics. Gear change was considerably smooth during steady driving.

Built quality was alright.

The car does not seem to accelerate when the car infront moves during a traffic stop when I am on ICC? Any ideas?

Also how close must the key fob be with the car to unlock it wirelessly? Could be a safety concern..especially if someone knows you are nearby and wants to enter your car

Anyone do PPF protective film mine to share your brand, price and where you install?

I find Magnus Pro film seems overpriced, cost even more than respraying the whole car shocking.gif

yes this is an issue for taller drivers which push the chairs back and they cannot see far enough outside, but if one adjust and sit properly without over "reclining" the back rest the view is actually OK. I've noticed alot of seats where the driving posture is wrong, sit too far back, too recline to effectively push brake pedal at max pressure if anything happens.

i feel this coating or ppf thing is a waste of money, none of my cars had it even the x50 and i doubt the car value will depreciate less when you sell it, dont think the margin covers the costs of putting it and maintaining it in the long term
